Aicila Lewis Celebrates Four Years at Out Boulder!
|
|---|
Dear Out Boulder,
It's been 4 years since we first got together. In our first weeks, it was the rush of discovery. I was introduced to your family pretty quickly. Dave Ensign, Treasurer at the time, and Kirsten Speilmann, Program Director, invited me to go a concert before my first official day in the office. Later in my time, I remember sitting in the front room of the Pridehouse and hearing a strange sort of rustling in the front yard. I went out to find Matt Patrick, one of the founding board members, doing some annual landscaping, something he did every year. Over time, I met more of the family. RJ, the "guy with the truck" who we called on to help with Pridefest. Jim and Ann, the folks who made the Longmont Pool Party happen every summer. (Ann is now also on our board.) Lin, a founding board member who came in and organized the Pridefest vendor check-in. We've done a lot in the last fours years -- changed our name; won awards; expanded programming to East County. It's been a pleasure and a privilege to know and work with you. I look forward to meeting more of you.
In these four years, I have learned that Out Boulder is more than an organization, it truly is a community of people dedicated to making a difference. I am so proud to be part of this team of passionate people. So whether you are new to town or have been here doing this since 1994, I hope you will stay in touch. I'd love to meet you and hear your story and get to know what you want to see in Boulder County and how you would like to be part of making it happen.
Sincerely, Aicila
