Youth Offerings at Out Boulder, Including this Friday's Craft and Movie Night! |
|---|
Dear Community,
This week mark's BOLD's second Craft and Movie Night, a monthly evening event for LGBTQ and Allied Youth 13-20. BOLD is generally a project-orientated program, and with this event we hope to encourage a social, artistic gathering without an end goal in mind. Our film project makes films, our Creative Writing group makes Zines, but with this event we hope to invite youth casually into the space, to get to know BOLD and become members of the Out Boulder community. Earlier this week I was chatting with a board member about BOLD, and she said to me "this is a community center." I agree. Not only does BOLD wish to activate and empower youth through our project programs, we also want to provide a community space for youth to socialize. Out Boulder is a community center, and youth are a vital part of our community. Craft and Movie night is an excellent way to do this! Last month we had so much fun hanging out, making macaroni necklaces, and watching Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. This month we will be screening The Pricess Bride, and making masks and tiaras (and the ever popular macaroni art, again)! Are you a youth 13-20, or know a youth 13-20? Come on down to Craft n Movie night this Friday at Out Boulder. 530-8, oh and there is free pizza too!
Lets all go to the movies! -B. Mann, BOLD Youth Program Coordinator

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Wig OUT with Prop Gay
|
|---|

Prop Gay this month is a Wig Extravaganza! And what better place to throw a wig party than at one of Boulder's best salons - Voodoo Hair Lounge.
Join Out Boulder and Prop Gay on Friday, March 30, 10pm at Voodoo Hair Lounge, 1537 Pearl Street.
What began as an idea for a wig party turned into a wig party with our friends at their salon. That turned into an idea for a Wig fashion show at midnight. That turned into one of the biggest partnerships we've ever attempted - Prop Gay throwing a party with a percentage of all drink sales benefitting Out Boulder (Boulder County's GLBT Community resource), Voodoo Hair Lounge designing our fashion models' wigs, CMKY booking some Uh-May-Zing DJs, John Corsa choreographing a dance, and New Era with their huge bus helping us pass Civil Unions in Colorado. This will be one of the craziest, most fun and riotous Prop Gays to date. Put on a wig and come party the night away. Stay connected with Prop Gay on Facebook! |
