A message from Out Boulder Ally & Board Member,
Lester Wall |
|---|
As a current member of the Out Boulder board of directors, it is a pleasure and a privilege to welcome you to this week's Out Boulder E-lert. My name is Lester Wall and I have been a board member for three years. I am one of a number of straight allies who are on the board to support the building of a cohesive and empowered Boulder County LGBT community-one that is visible and without fear of being targeted and that has access to all the rights available to anyone else in the United States.
At this moment in our history, I believe that allies play an important political role in furthering equality for the LGBT community and I hope you agree. If you have thoughts you would like to share about ally involvement in the LGBT community feel free to contact me at lwall@outboulder.org. If you are curious about why I am so interested in being a part of this community, my recent blog on the subject can be read by clicking here. |

Initially only looking for a place to sleep, and perhaps someone to sleep with, Brad ends up engaging with the colorful members of the house and their indomitable house mother, an aging ball-legend and fierce protector of her family.
Laughter, tears, sex sirens, and butch queens up in pumps ensue and remarkably, Brad ends up finding an extraordinary home and loving, caring family in this, the strangest of

BREAKING THE MOLD: a unique personal growth, artistic, and social opportunity for LGBTIQ adults.
|
|---|
Daily requirements of the mechanized world cut us off from
the nourishment that exists naturally within us. Out of touch with our bodies, we become out of touch with others, our work, and the world around us. Even partially disconnected, we can turn to empty or unhealthy forms of pleasure for fulfillment and wind up feeling worse. LGBTIQ people must continually cope with the additional stressors of homophobia/transphobia and internalized oppression. This 7-week group offers a welcoming space to access untapped strengths and creativity thr
ough original movement. Participants will explore body-based patterns that are life-limiting and play with new options. It's perfect for those wishing to shake things up in a healthy, powerful way. "Break the Mold" promotes increased embodiment and conscious choice in an environment of respect, curiosity, and fun. If you suspect there is more of you to know and to share with the world, please join us in this exciting group, created especially for Colorado's LGBTIQ community! Contact Leslie at 720-284-1197 for more information and to pre-register. When: Wednesdays evenings, November 2nd -- December 21st, at Boulder Circus Center. Cost for 7 week series, $210.00, A limited number of scholarships are available through Out Boulder. If you wish to create a scholarship or provide additional sponsorships to make this program available to others in the community, please contact Mauricio at mshoup@outboulder.org.

Election 2011 Community Questionaire
|
|---|
During the last election, City Council candidates received questionnaires from dozens of separate organizations, including Out Boulder. Their answers to those questions were then posted at dozens of separate places, if they were posted at all, making it very difficult for voters to get a consolidated view of what a candidate is all about. This time, the Blue Line is doing it differently, making it less burdensome for the candidates and easier for voters to get information. The Community Questionnaire combined questions from as many local organizations as possible to cover a broad range of issues and perspectives. We received over one hundred questions from about 30 organizations (listed below). We worked with those organizations to combine and edit the questions down to a manageable 57, about half of which are multiple choice or yes/no questions. Check it out here!
