Thank you to One Colorado and You for all of your work on Civil Unions...and what you can do to make Civil Unions Happen in Colorado... |
|---|
Out Boulder wants to thank our partners at One Colorado for all of their leadership and hard work on the Civil Unions bill. Civil Unions failed on a party-line, 6-5 vote in the House Judiciary Committee. We also want to thank you - each of you who contacted your representatives, wrote letters to the editor and testified at the Capitol.
We will continue our work of changing hearts and minds through our SpeakingOUT program. We encourage you to volunteer for and donate to LGBT organizations, educate yourself on the issues and candidates, register to vote and VOTE.
Finally, if you are able to, and as Harvey Milk implored us in 1978 - Please Come Out! It is the single most important act we can do to change hearts and minds, laws and policies, and to transform ourselves...

Want to Put Women at the Tables of Power?
Find Out How! |
|---|
Dorothy Rupert and Cynda Collins Arsenault are delighted to welcome Women's Action for New Directions (WAND) and WAND's program for women state legislators, the Women Legislators' Lobby (WiLL).
Mix and mingle with friends you know, and some you should know, during an evening of fun, facts, and the future with WAND and WiLL Executive Director Susan Shaer and Arizona State Senator Kyrsten Sinema.
Wednesday, April 6, 2011 / 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the home of Cynda Collins Arsenault 211 South 3rd Avenue, Superior 80027
Susan Shaer, WAND and WiLL Executive Director, will bring you news of the current hullabaloo in Washington and how you can help. A short, feisty, blond New Englander who says her life's work is to "make trouble for men who have a love affair with nuclear weapons" and elect women to Congress to help in this cause. A leader of anti-war efforts, Susan's job is to shift federal money away from unneeded weapons of war to human and environmental needs.
Kyrsten Sinema, an active member of WiLL, has been an Arizona state representative, an Arizona state senator, and is planning a run for Congress. An advisor to the White House on immigration and LBGT issues, and the only winner against a statewide anti-gay marriage ballot question, Kyrsten has authored "Unite and Conquer: How To Build Coalitions That Win and Last". Learn how to work with and win over the "other side".
PS: If you have another commitment for this busy night, please drop in for a few minutes to meet this powerful group of women. We'd love to see you!
