GROUNDBREAKING RESEARCH from the Director of the Family Acceptance Project, San Francisco State by Dr. Caitlin Ryan.
The Family Acceptance Project™ is the only community research, intervention, education and policy initiative that works to decrease major health and related risks for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth, such as suicide, substance abuse, HIV and homelessness - in the context of their families. We use a research-based, culturally grounded approach to help ethnically, socially and religiously diverse families decrease rejection and increase support for their LGBT children.
Learn how families and communities can respond when youth come out.
Find out how to promote well-being for LGBT children and adolescents.
For LGBT people, parents, people who work with youth, and everyone who cares about building a strong, healthy community!

SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK - Saturday, April 9th - Boulder Theater - Tickets still Available! |
|---|
The name of the group was derived from a song, based on Psalm 81:16, which tells of a land so rich that when rocks were cracked open, honey flowed from them. Founder Bernice Johnson has said that this first song in which four women blended their voices was so powerful, that there was no question what the name of the group should be.
Over the years more than 20 individuals have lent their voices to Sweet Honey in the Rock. Beginning as a quartet, the group is now composed of six African-American women (including a professional American Sign Language interpreter who accompanies the group on concert tours.)

Out Boulder Community Garden Plot in Your Town?
|
|---|
Out Boulder is thinking about getting a few community garden plots around Boulder County. The idea is that members of the LGBTQ and Allied Community would help take care of the garden. In exchange, volunteers could enjoy what is grown and bring the rest to the Out Boulder Pride House to share with the community :) You don't have to have a green thumb to volunteer - just some time and interest in helping our community grow!
If you would like to volunteer some of your time to help take care of an Out Boulder Community Garden plot, please email Cathy (cbusha@outboulder.org) and let her know what town you live. We need to have at least five people in a town willing to care for a community garden before we'll go forward in securing a plot.
