THE GOOD NEWS
Daniel the Beagle
Daniel the Beagle and his family appear with Anderson Cooper
Catholic Stewards of Creation continues to follow the journey of Daniel the Beagle, the little dog that was gassed in an animal control gas chamber in Alabama and LIVED.
His story continues to be one written from the BEST NEWS department of the world.
Daniel the Beagle, like Daniel of the Bible, emerged unscathed from the gas, greeting his persecutors with love. It was Linda Schiller of the ELEVENTH HOUR RESCUE that jumped for joy and requested that Daniel be spared and brought to her organization.
Daniel was flown from Alabama to New Jersey, compliments of PILOTS AND PAWS where he was given a second chance at life. He wasfostered by the Eleventh Hour Rescue organization until a perfect home could be found.
Daniel's perfect home was found and it was with the Dwyer Family, who also live in New Jersey. JOE DWYER, a friend of Catholic Stewards of Creation, is an author who wrote a book about a pit-bulldog he rescued and named Shelby. He chronicles not only her journey into love and trust of humans again, but, the miraculous healing she had over his interior life in the process. The book is titled SHELBY'S GRACE.
Today, Daniel and Shelby are the best of dog friends and more importantly family members in a loving and vibrant household. DANIEL and SHELBY both have their own Facebook pages.
Daniel has gone from "almost destroyed pound puppy" to Talk Show Star, having just appeared on the Anderson Cooper segment on CNN. Word has it that Daniel is being invited to visit from around the globe.
Right now, Daniel is busy helping to support Pennsylvania Senator Andy Dinniman's introduction of Senate Bill 1329, known as DANIEL'S LAW into Pennsylvania legislation. If passed, this billwould once and for all ban the practice of gassing pet animals in gas chambers as a form of euthanasia. The bill, which currently has 34 co-sponsors from both sides of the aisle, would ensure that when the euthanization of a pet animal is necessary, only the most humane methods are used.
Such GOOD NEWS!
We just thought this story to be such an" inspiration" to grace the Advent season. There is great power in loving hearts when that power is loosed with abandon in service to a great good. The power of God in the moment cannot be denied.

The author of the book presents an intriguing and thorough theological premise!

THE ART OF LIFE
Ira Thomas
Born into an artistic and devout Catholic family, Ira Thomas grew up on the Mediterranean island of Malta. It was a nun in Catholic school, Sr. Mary Dukes who gave Ira her foundation in art. Later, she was tutored by the prominent Maltese artist, Esprit Barthet. While working in Malta as a certified, architectural draftsman she met her American husband. She came to the USA as a newly-wed at age 22. She considers her greatest work of art the raising of her children to embrace their Catholic faith.
Ira Thomas is privileged to be related to St Ġorġ Preca, her grandmother's first cousin, canonized on June 3, 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI.

YOUTH STEWARDSHIP
Can young people REALLY make a difference?
A remarkable video made back in 1992. A Canadian girl spoke to the United Nations and left them completely silent and speechless for five minutes. Her name is Severn Cullis-Suzuki, and her speech was given at a U.N. assembly in Brazil when she was twelve years old. She had raised all the money to travel to the delegation, five thousand miles from her home, herself.
