Shamefully today, with less than 5,500 wolves left in the lower 48 states, the US Secretary of the Interior is being pressured to delist wolves from the endangered species list, leaving these magnificent animals to be extinguished in Montana and Idaho by at least 75% of the current population. THE GOOD NEWS

Wolf Connection: Humans and Wolves, an ancient bond for modern times

www.wolfconnection.org

Wolf Connection is absolutely one of the most unusual organizations that CSC has found to date, one with a very unique concept that involves youth empowerment co-mingled with the incredible bonding of human and "wolf-dogs." Research has show that mans first cooperative association with wolves came in early history.

Wolf Connection was founded by TEO ALFERO a visionary who comes with extensive experience and education in youth empowerment. It was a progressive process but, his vision of a youth empowerment program AND a wolf-dog rescue center and sanctuary that also rescues and accepts wolf-dogs,( meaning dogs with various degrees of wolf content) was born and now operates

in Acton, California.

The youth empowerment program allows young men and women that engage in this program to grow, mature, develop their character, and nurture a multitude of interior and social qualities that takes them to a deeper level. This is achieved through an observation and bonding process with the wolf-dogs.

Perhaps one of the most sought after events at the Wolf Connection Ranch is the once a month "Hike with the Wolves." Participants are treated to an evening barbecue and potluck dinner, a special wolf-dog presentation and then under the moonlight, hike into the mountains,

both human and wolf-dogs.

Please support this outstanding organization by DONATING OR VOLUNTEERING today!

Faith and Sharing-Camp St. Johns at Marywood

Sister Maureen and Father Ron will be animating the next Faith and Sharing retreat from August 8th to the 13th (Monday noon until Saturday until noon). This is a week-long retreat in which we form community with those with mental and/or physical disabilities. Bishop Snyder welcomed this retreat over 25 years ago. This is the retreat in which all of the Summer Camps like "I am Special" "Camp Care" and "Camp Promise" originated. Father Jean Vanier and Father John Newton are known for their spirituality in these retreats. Father Ron and Sister Maureen have been animated for over 12 years. Call the office of disabilities for more details and tell Rebecca that Father Ron sent you. Bishop Felipe Estevez will join us for Mass one day. The swimming pool is grand. You haven't lived until you get embraced by a person with the gift of Down Syndrome!

The beautiful people from Harbor House join us. No experience required, only an open heart. I especially in need of someone to help lift a good friend of mine who is sharp as a tack, but lacks the ability use his arms and legs. Let me know if you are interested.
