The Ocean Conservancy has been the national leader in protecting our ocean's for 35 years. Their commitment to finding solutions to improve the health of marine ecology on all levels is backed by some of the most talented scientists and marine ecologists on the planet.
In their own words: Our ocean is the life support system for our planet. It sustains us every day - with the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the climate we need to survive. From our personal actions to the laws that govern our seas, it's time to follow the science and improve the way we care for our ocean.
Their re-commitment this year to the health of the ocean is one of change. They are asking each one of us to make a commitment to become informed, educated and inspired to make that change happen. Eight issues top their list: Stop warming the planet; Stop trashing our beaches; Support sustainable fishing; Set the standard for fish farming; Save marine wildlife; Protect the Yosemites of the sea; Bring back natural order in our seas; Build bold leadership.
