TIP OF THE WEEK

Future projections from climate scientist say that the Mississippi River will see less winter snow packs that lock water away until the spring thaw and more rains which will drain into the river quickly.

BUD'S BARKS!

Susi is on to my sneaking in and eating the cat's food. I am now going to use my mind to grow an opposable thumb, so that I may use it to open the pantry door and decide for MYSELF how much food is "too much!"

THANKS TO YOU...

THE GOOD NEWS

HELP for the Animals in the Wake of FLOODS, FIRES & TORNADOES

Animals, both wild and domestic have been displaced, abandoned and left to their own survival skills in the wake of the "flood of the century." The needs for animal rescue, sheltering, food assistance, transportation and other logistics is staggering.

And as always, answering the call is:

The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) carrying a "lion's share" of rescue operations.

The Humane Society of the United States and its field teams mobilizing to save pets left behind.

The American Humane has been on the scene of areas ravaged by both the tornadoes and floods, doing an incredible amount of work in salvaging the lives of animals as this video from CNN shows.

A recent article at TheHorse.com alerts all horse owners to the necessary arrangements that they MUST make in order to save their animals.

On FOX NEWS it was reported that the deer and turkey populations alone could be cut by 60%. People are being advised to leave the wild animals alone. The various wildlife agencies in the affected states are on the scene.

We must do our part to support the work of these fine agencies as they work to save and shelter our "lesser brethren." Support the people who are working to save the animals, as seen here in this video which is taking place in multiple towns down the Mississippi River.

Your donations are GREATLY appreciated!
