The arrival of spring brings more than just a chance to finally get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air...it brings to mind thoughts of finding those "fresh air" places, namely our National Parks. We the people are co-owners in these majestic places and heirs to something so precious that protection of these spaces is imperative.
NO ONE takes this subject more seriously than the National Parks Conservation Association, whose mission statement reflects, to protect and enhance America's National Parks for present and future generations.
This past February, President Obama released a report recommending the strengthening of protections for our national parks. This precedes the landmark celebration of the National Park Service's 95th Anniversary August 25, 2011.
The National Parks Conservation Association is currently working on six key initiatives to help restore our national parks for the National Park Service centennial in 2016. These initiatives are, clean air, wildlife, climate change, local park protection, transportation funding and reinvesting in Americas park heritage.
Now is a great time to get involved and support the National Parks Conservation Association! Be a steward of our great national treasures, our National Parks.
