The news of the upcoming beatification of John Paul II has many Catholics and animal lovers "over the moon" with excitement. Pope Benedict XVI is planning a May 1st beatification, which is the third of the four steps to canonization, or the declaring of John Paul II as a saint.
The reason animal lovers are thrilled with this announcement surrounds the fact that there was no Pope in the history of the Church who clarified more, embraced more and theologically taught more on the subject of creation and its creatures than JOHN PAUL II.
The paramount web site to find Roman Catholicism's teachings and writings and many of John Paul II's exhortations on the various subjects of creation is the CATHOLIC CONSERVATION CENTER. The Catholic Conservation Center is a non-profit organization that promotes ecology, environmental justice, authentic development, and stewardship of the Earth, in light of the Bible and living tradition of the Catholic Church.

EVERYONE should bookmark the Catholic Conservation Center's website! The wealth of creation stewardship materials are a blessing to animal lovers, ecologist, conservationist, families and schools. As Saint Paul commanded:
