The Good News
Help Four Paws

www.helpfourpaws.org
.
We here at Catholic Stewards of Creation were alerted to the fantastic work of the Help Four Paws organization by a local newspaper story. This organization is by far, one of the most unique animal rescue operations we have come across.
Founded by Elliot Mintzer of Saint Augustine, Florida, the organization works to save dogs and cats that are in harm's way or are in danger of being euthanized, delivering these animals by plane or car to rescue organizations, foster homes and qualified families. All efforts are volunteer oriented and organization is a registered 501k, operating solely on donations and available resources.
You can support their efforts by donation or volunteering your time to aid in transferring animals to their safe haven.
If you want to be inspired, just click on their RESCUE FLIGHTS or ROAD RESCUE links and see what this tremendous organization is doing to save animals.

Susi Pittman, author and founder of CatholicStewardsofCreation.com is available to speak to your school, club or organization. *

She loves sharing her passion and love for the creatures of this world with her audience! Susi is about saying "yes" to God when it would be easier to say no! She is about teaching others how to see the created world through the eyes of a dedicated steward, as God's "stand-in." She is about believing that you can do anything you want to do and enjoy getting there, heartbreak and all! If it is the challenge of change, Susi helps people rise to the occasion with all the vigor and enthusiasm that serving God as caretakers demands in this wonderful life.

Enjoy a traditional Italian ALL SAINTS DAY-ALL SOULS DAY Treat!

Meini or Pan de Mej (literally in Lombard "bread of millet", due it's color) are a very popular traditional recipe of Milan and Lombardy prepared on All Saints Day as a very light cake, useful for being dipped into the milk. There should always be enough "biscuits" left over so that they may be eaten for breakfast on All Souls Day, as by tradition dipped into fresh cream.
10 ½ oz of corn meal 7 oz of white flour 3 ½ oz of brown sugar 4 ¼ oz of butter 3 ½ oz of sugar 2 eggs
DIRECTIONS: Combine ingredients until good and doughy. Make small balls from dough, shaping firmly and then pressing center of dough ball with thumb making small indentation. Place on greased cookie sheet or aluminum foil sprayed with Pam and cook in 390-degree oven for 20 minutes. Lower temperature to 320-degrees and bake another 10 minutes.
