The American Humane Association has been at the forefront of every major advancement in protecting children, pets and farm animals from abuse and neglect since 1877. Today they are also leading the way in understanding human-animal interaction and its role in society.
Studies have shown that there is a link between violence to people and violence to animals. Many times, women and children in abusive situations aren't the only ones suffering. Because of their joint mission, expertise, and long historical tradition, American Humane has unique qualifications to address the relationships between cruelty to animals and other forms of societal violence. American Humane works diligently to build a more humane and caring society. The integrity of their mission is that in a civilized society, no form of violence should be tolerated.
This is a truly AMAZING organization that is doing tremendous good in a world in need of a champion!
