It is most joyful when we can report on a miracle, especially on a
Monday morning...but, we have a great one! Khloe, the little Schnauzer
stolen from a car in Tallahassee, Florida, has been reunited with her
family in Atlanta, Georgia. This article from the Tallahassee Democrat carried the
good news last week.
Leslie and Keith Brumbelow, Khloe's owners had written to us whenever
Khloe had disappeared and asked that we help in alerting people to the
situation. Many of you have since written to ask whether the little dog
had been found.
Through the hard and persistent efforts of the Brumbelow's attempts
at publicizing and advertising Khloe's disappearance all across the
South, the little dog turned up in a shelter in Atlanta.
I spoke with Leslie Brumbelow this morning to get her response now
that Khloe is home. The first thing she said is, "It's a miracle!" The
Brumbelow's do not have any children and Khloe is their baby and her
disappearance just devastated Leslie and Keith both. Khloe has shown
them she is SO HAPPY to be home and is getting back to routine again!
Family members from across Georgia have been by to visit Khloe since she
was returned home.
Leslie did say that Khloe had been injured from an encounter with an
unknown large dog, as she bore the wounds from it on her body. She also
is having to readjust to being with other dogs again but, seems well on
her way as Leslie says she will be returning back to all her friends at
doggie day care soon.
The whole experience of losing her beloved pet has prompted Leslie to
speak to the importance of all owners to have their pets receive an
identification microchip. That is what led to Khloe's return. She also
said that it is important for pet owners to "think like a criminal" so
as to be more prepared and vigilant with their pets whether they are in
the back yard or out in public.
We congratulate the Bumbelow's on Khloe finally being found and wish
them much "joy" as she is now back home in the loving arms that she so
needed.
