The Bee's Knees
The
"keeper of the garden" has to be the Bee. Too often we use the term "bee" to
apply to any flying insect that stings. But our native bees and honey bees are
really docile little creatures. They fly from blossom to blossom on our plants
and trees, gathering their nectar and performing the most important task of
pollinating our flowers, fruits and vegetables. Click here and watch
the bees and appreciate the majesty of God's divine providence in creation. If
you are interested in planting flowers and ornamental plants that bees love,
visit Melissa's Garden.

Father Ron has returned from his Central
America journey and shares with us his column titled Mission Honduras 2010, a written
documentary, descriptive in every sense of the word. This mission was sponsored
by Friends of the Missions and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mandarin,
Florida, as Father and 23 others (doctors, nurses and laymen) visit towns to
bring medical, material and spiritual attention to the poor. It will open your
eyes to the beauty of being disciples of Christ! READ MORE...

Holy Week: March 28th-April 4th
Catholic
churches all around the globe will celebrate the beginning of Holy Week on
Passion Sunday (Palm Sunday), March 28th.. Catholics assemble
outside the Church with palm leaves and receive the blessing of the leaves as
they are recalled to the Gospel account of Jesus' arrival into Jerusalem. This
is followed by a solemn procession of the priest to the altar. During Mass, a
narrative of the Passion of the Lord (Jesus' capture, trial, suffering and
death) is read.
As
the end of March approaches, it brings us to the doorway of the Paschal
Triduum, the period of three days beginning with the evening Mass of the Lord's
Supper on Holy Thursday, April 1st, continuing through Good Friday
and Holy Saturday and ending with Easter, April 4th. The faithful
are called to move in solemnity through the passion and death of Jesus and then
rejoice with the triumph of Jesus' resurrection from the dead.
Take
time to make a spiritual journey and click here to learn more about the Paschal Triduum at Church Year.

Looking Towards Spring!
I don't know about you, but as a Southerner, I'm really mad
at our regional groundhog in Atlanta,
General Beauregard! He promised us spring was on its way. We could all plan on
getting our seeds ready to plant and watch the renewal arrive. Strike one for a
bad call! If spring is supposedly on the way, it's hiding behind the waves of
snow and ice that continue to pummel the Deep South.
At least Punxsutawney Phil told it straight and the northern half of the country could make plans to hibernate another six weeks. (I should have read my
Farmer's Almanac.)
But, we do know that sooner or later Spring IS coming and
there will be lots to do in the garden and yards. We have compiled a selection
of gardening sites and suppliers that are sure to help you get the BEST start
in your spring garden this year.
Don't forget the Birds:
(We receive no monetary compensation for any of the suppliers
shown. We share on the basis of personal experience.)

You Have a Role to Play With Us!
We
need you! We need your participation! This is a web site that was constructed
to encourage your participation and interaction with other stewards. If you scroll
down our Left Menu, you will find a designated section called STEWARDS CORNER & PET CORNER.
This
is YOUR place to be heard, to share
with others, to make commentary and to connect with like minded people. We
would like to encourage you to write us and share what you can. We love
pictures, we love stories, we love hearing from you. And most of all we LOVE
sharing you with others!
So
pick up your camera and snap a photo of Spring's first blossoms, or of your pet
dog making a doggy snow-angel; got a gardening tip, send it on; have you found
an inspirational link, we want to know; is there an ecological or animal issue
in your State that you want others to know about, SEND IT TO US!
You
are our family and all of us seek to be good stewards of the gift of creation.
So, please make yourself at home on our site and share with your extended
family at catholicStewardsofCreation.com!
