Raising Philanthropic Children:
Lessons from the field

As advisor to high-net worth families, Federal Street Advisors is often engaged in our clients' efforts to raise financially responsible children and leave a meaningful legacy.

In our  November 2011 white paper, we discussed the value of a family governance structure in the wealth transition process. In a new white paper, we continue the wealth transition discussion by exploring the value of discussing and including your children in family philanthropy.  We then share two case studies that illustrate both successful and unsuccessful family philanthropy, and offer recommendations for excellent reading on this topic.

Thoughtful, structured, inclusive philanthropy can help prepare children to be successful in all aspects of their lives.
