NEMWI has office space available in their office suite located steps from Senate offices and Union Station.  The ideal subtenants would be non-profit organizations focussed on issues relevant to NEMWI projects and programs, and/or geographic areas within the Northeast-Midwest region.  Up to nine furnished offices available with parking spaces, 24 hour security desk services, and shared conference room and kitchen facilities.

From the Ground Up: LOCUS Event

LOCUS is a network of real estate developers and investors who advocate for sustainable, walkable development in our towns and cities. On Tuesday, January 25, they will host " From the Ground Up: Developer Insights on Real Estate Market Trends and Federal Policy."  The event will be held from 10:30 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. at 1539 Longworth House Office Building. Speakers include: Pres Kabacoff, CEO and Co-Chairman of the Board at HRI Properties; Ed Lipkin, President and CEO of EBL&S Development; and John Robert Smith, Former Mayor of Meridian, Mississippi & President & CEO of Reconnecting America.

Great Lakes Chambers Briefing
There will be a briefing on Wednesday, Jan. 26th by the Great Lakes Metro Chambers Coalition at 9:30 a.m. in 2218 Rayburn House Office Bldg. They will brief congressional staff  on their key issues, which include: the importance of a transportation authorization bill; the need for a 21st century northern border with Canada; protection and wise use of the Great Lakes; federal policies that encourage clean coal and nuclear; a strong federal immigration policy; and a Great Lakes innovation strategy.

The Great Lakes Metro Chambers Coalition is an organization of local chambers across the Midwest.  (The chambers come from the 8 traditional Great Lakes states plus WV, KY, MO, and IA.)  The Coalition is run out of the Detroit Chamber.

Registration Open for Brownfields 2011 Conference
Registration is open for the 2011 National Brownfields Conference which takes place April 3-5, 2011 in Philadelphia (click here to register).
