Mark Gorman To Speak At "Experiments on Rivers" Conference

Mark Gorman, Policy Specialist on Water and Watershed issues at the Institute, will be presenting a talk this week at the "Experiments on Rivers: The Consequences of Dams-An Interdisciplinary Conference," which is being held on Thursday and Friday, November 11-12, at the University of Minnesota's Institute for Advanced Study in Minneapolis. The conference is intended to raise questions and explore complexities, to provoke reflection from consideration of new perspectives, and to suggest future lines of inquiry in diverse disciplines and practices. The conference is free and open to the public, however, space is limited and pre-registration is advised. Box lunches will be available for conference attendees who register by November 9. Registration Open for Brownfields 2011 Conference

Registration is open for the 2011 National Brownfields Conference which takes place April 3-5, 2011 in Philadelphia (click here to register). Final Day For EPA Chesapeake Bay TMDL Comments

Comments on the proposed Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load are being accepted by the US Environmental Protection Agency through today, Monday, November 8th. The draft TMDL documents and guidance for submitting comments are available on the EPA's Chesapeake Bay TMDL website. Final Watershed Implementation Plans for each of the six Bay States and the District of Columbia are due by November 29.
