Events in July at Cape Harbour

July sizzles with special events at Cape Harbour starting with the Great American Picnic on July 4th and continuing with block parties, happy hours, cooking classes, live music, food and a dazzling array of activities all month long.

First up is the annual July 4th Great American Picnic from 11 am until 3 pm.  The kick off will be a spirited salute to the troops followed by a family day filled with fun contests, good things to eat, and music.  The members of the non-profit Adopt-A-Troop Foundation will again be raising money to support our military.  This year the ever-popular "Best Patriotic Pet Contest" has our two famous judges, Lois Thome, WINK-TV news anchor, and Anita Simmons, owner of Cape Dog Bakery.  Children will sparkle with colorful firework ponytails and patriotic tattoos, or create bandana designs all compliments of the Cape Harbour merchants.  And, don't forget to bring your camera for kids' photos with "Mini Race Cars" and then gather everyone for the "Family Fun Photo Op".  Other events include a Martial Arts University demonstration and the Calendar Girls performance of "A tribute to the 82nd Airborne".  Emcee, Chris the DJ with "Juke Box Hero" will provide musical entertainment for the festival.  A variety of menu items will be available at Cape Harbour's famous eateries and check with merchants along the Promenade for some red hot deals. Free admission and parking.  Everyone is welcome!

Just a reminder - On the 4th of July, Rumrunners, The Joint and Run Agrounds will welcome guests all day with their special menu choices.
Café Pignoli will be selling a traditional Fourth of July menu of hot dogs and hamburgers along with their daily menu.

On Tuesday, July 6 from 6 pm to 8 pm, Harbour View Gallery at Cape Harbour invites the public to meet guest artists Joan Roberts, whose oil/acrylic impressionist paintings are rich with romance and grace; and Beverly Spana, whose inventory of painted glassware, fused glass, and hand-painted items such as furniture and floor cloths are sure to inspire.  Both artists will have their works on display.  10% of gallery member sales from July 1- 4 will be donated to the Cape Coral Community Foundation for the Iwo Jima Statue restoration fund.  For information call 239-540-5789.
