4th ANNUAL CAPE HARBOUR WATER & WHEELS
The city's most popular boat and auto show, "Water and Wheels" returns to Cape Harbour for its 4th annual run Friday, February 26th through Sunday, February 28th. The event is free and open to the public.
It is a full-fledged family weekend with boats, yachts, cars and all-day activities to enjoy, including galleries to explore, boat tours by Banana Boat Bay Tour Company, and shopping in the many waterfront boutiques and shops along Cape Harbour's Promenade.
In addition there will be live entertainment at Expo Island starting Friday from 6pm - 10pm featuring "Nightshift," a funky horn R & B band. Music continues Saturday from 6pm - 10pm with "The Bunche Band" and on Sunday from 2pm - 5pm enjoy "Acoustic Addiction."
Rumrunners, The Joint and Run Agrounds will offer an array of food and drink specials throughout the weekend and Pignoli will be heating up the outdoor grill for their famous "Thrill of the Grill."
On the "must see" list is the Saturday, February 27th "Car Show" featuring some of the most spectacular automotive design and production vehicles ever manufactured. New cars from Auto Quest, as well as vintage cars, all carefully restored and cared for by area collectors and car enthusiasts, will make up a complete "Dream Showcase" for car lovers. The show is from 10am - 6pm in the parking lot across from Rumrunners. It's a rare opportunity to take an up close look at some of the Cape's finest classic and collectible vehicles.
The Cape Coral Rowing Club on Sunday invites guests to "Experience the Thrill of Rowing" from 10am until noon. For a $10 fundraiser donation, adults and children can experience amazing power and speed as the rowing club crew gives guests a ride in a rowing shell. No rowing experience is necessary. Remember, this is not a simulator - it's the REAL THING!
Also Sunday afternoon features the Charlotte Harbor Paddlers "Draggin Dragons". From 1pm - 3pm they will provide a Dragon Boat demonstration.
The boat show in the Marina at Cape Harbour will display the best the area has to offer in an on-water and land display of rare and custom boats, including cruising yachts, performance boats, sailboats, sport fishing boats, fishing tackle and boating accessories. Yachts and boats will be open to the public to tour all three days and are being hosted by more than a dozen major dealers including Allied Marine, Banana Bay Tour Company, Boaters Landing, Cape Coral Boat Rentals, Cape Yacht Management, Carefree Boat Club, Classic Electric Boats, Dolphin International Yacht Sales, Galati Yacht Sales, Marine Max, Paradigm Yacht Sales, Saint Custom Built Boats, Venture Out Charters and Whiteaker Yacht Sales.
Show goers will also have an opportunity to meet preeminent custom wooden boat builder Col. Hugh Saint who built Will Stout's 38-foot Honduran mahogany runabout "Rumrunner." It, along with other Hugh Saint custom wood boats will be on display at the Funky Fish House dock. The award-winning Funky Fish House is Cape Harbour's latest addition and this Showcase Home and will be open for tours.
There will also be displays by Florida Lifestyle Homes, Tropical Marine Construction, Vespa of Fort Myers, A Custom Carts, PWC Industries, Inc., Auto Quest and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
