REALMARK DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCES
"FUNKY FISH HOUSES" AT CAPE HARBOUR Design Calls for Native Plants, Key West Aesthetics An opportunity to become part of Cape Harbour's newest residential community has been announced with the first release of a select number of home sites affordably priced in the high $200s. Named "Funky Fish Houses" at Cape Harbour, this unique waterfront neighborhood, containing a 19-home collection of multi-level single family homes, will line the seawall within the 150-acre Cape Harbour community. Homes will include garages under the main structure with the neighborhood reflecting the classic and colorful Key West beach cottage style with distinctive architectural character. These unique homes, carefully designed to highlight the land's natural elements, are a first for the city of Cape Coral and an innovative option for those of all ages who seek maintenance-free living in an intimate, and vibrant waterfront setting. Homeowners, working together with Realmark's team of designated builders, will be able to design their new home ranging in height from one to four stories and living space from as small as 500 square feet to over 3,000 square feet. Construction on a new home for Will Stout, president of Realmark Development is already underway. Marvin Development Corporation, one of several on Realmark's team of designated builders, has custom designed Stout's home to fit both the lot and the character of its owner to give it a "funky" look and feel. And, under the careful guidance of artist and designer Steve Turner of Steven B. Turner Designs, Stout's new home will be the ideal space for relaxed Southwest Florida living. The interior design is being coordinated by Cherie Clark of Cherie Clark Interiors. Cherie's talent has been beautifully reflected in all the models and sales centers here at Cape Harbour. Her design center also overlooks the Funky Fish Houses. The "funky" fish house concept was born out of a collaboration between Stout and Turner. Inspired by the old Florida homes of Key West, Turner has combined his love of the natural environment with that of Key West style, reshuffling and creating what will become a standout cottage neighborhood community, and the first of its kind in Cape Coral. The special nature of the neighborhood is reflected in the lots that are perched on the water's edge. A fee-simple form of home ownership affords homeowners property boundaries that extend approximately 25-feet over the water, allowing the option of building an outdoor deck or extended dock. Docks may be designed to accommodate boats up to 50-feet in a slipped dock or 38 feet in length on a boatlift. Architectural trim is another important aspect of design. All homes will have traditional metal roofs and ample use of windows, doors and glass walls that take in the unsurpassed water views Gulf breezes and natural light will be encouraged. In keeping with the "funky spirit," the architectural tapestry will be as colorful as Key West itself, reflecting the building styles and cultures of the island's earliest settlers. Landscaping will be minimal and limited to using indigenous species exclusive to the area. A walkway at the water's edge will extend through the neighborhood, leading to Cape Harbour's many shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants including Rumrunners, The Joint, Run Agrounds and Café Pignoli. The Funky Fish House concept provides for a continuation of Cape Harbour's commitment to preserve the value, character and aesthetics of this very special residential development community. Realmark has named a select group of builders to assist homeowners in creating their unique cottages. They are Marvin Development Corporation, Marino Construction Group, Inc., Island Development LLC, Tudor Villas Construction, Wyman Stokes Builder, Inc., Paul Homes, PGI Homes, and Florida Lifestyle Homes of Fort Myers, Inc. Cape Harbour sits on the city's southwest section near the intersection of Chiquita Boulevard and El Dorado Parkway West.
