Launch Party & Fireworks
Cape Harbour is the place to
be on Friday, July 31st to celebrate the unveiling of the community's newest
web site, CapeCoral.com.
At 8pm "The CapeCoral.com Launch
Party" kicks off at The Joint. There
will be live outdoor entertainment all evening and the grand finale will be a
dazzling display of fireworks at 10:30pm.
Rumrunners & Pignoli will
be featuring a "Midsummer New Year's Eve Menu."
In addition all the shops and galleries will be open.
The event offers an advance
peek at the new web site, one designed as both a wide-ranging informational as
well as a social and business networking site, geared to keeping everyone
up-to-date on who's who and what's happening in the community.
"It's a web site for people who live here, or
who may be visiting the community or a person coming to look for a new home
here. It's anything and everything you
want to know about the city of Cape Coral,'' said Brian Thompson, sales and
marketing manager for Alliance Digital Solutions, the company which teamed with
Bob Biggs and Barbara Watts-Biggs to create the web site.
The new site lists a
6,000-member business directory, details local activities and events, family
attractions, restaurants, salons, and professional services such as doctors,
hospital and other services. Web site
space is also reserved for folks wanting to advertise a public event or for
submitting a personal photo, perhaps of their son or daughter's slide into home
base that won the game or of a milestone birthday or anniversary. There are
also links to the city's official web site and just about every municipality in
the area.
"If you want to find a restaurant, you'll be
able to do it. If you want to find a
place to get your hair cut, or where to pay a parking ticket, you'll find that,
too,'' said Thompson. "We're doing this
for the community...and we're also doing it for the business community. Businesses will be able to market themselves
on this site, perhaps using a banner ad or maybe upgrading their directory
listing. We truly wanted to make this a
win-win for the community as a whole and for the businesses in the community."
Thompson said five percent of
the site's annual sales revenue has been earmarked to benefit various local
charities, among them the Barbara Watt Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce
Foundation of Cape Coral, and Tender Loving Care Orphanage.
