Featured Product: Jamb Jack

Jamb JacJamb Jack Window and Door Bracing is easy to use and easily adjustable to fit most any size of opening and any variety of ICF Block.  The system features many benefits over site constructed wood bucks.   The durable braces are made from heavy-duty, powder-coated steel.  The load capacity is between 2000 lbs - 3000 lbs.  The braces are reusable, alleviating the need for wood bucks, minimizing material needs and waste, paying for itself in three uses.  The Jamb Jack requires 90% less set up time than traditional wood bucks, because they are quick and easy to set up and require minimal tear down and no clean up time.

The Jamb Jack comes in two different models, Professional and Residential.  The Professional Jamb Jack comes in three sizes: short, medium and long, with an adjustable post and adjustable end plates.  The Professional model may include a corner plate and panel adaptor as interchangeable accessories to meet your specific needs.  The Residential Jamb Jack comes in two sizes: short and long, each with a welded foot plate and adjustable post.

Survey Results

This month we are featuring results from questions asked in our recent surveys. In the survey we asked general questions about your knowledge of ICF's, your interest in completing an ICF project and what else you might want us to discuss in our e-newsletter.  A couple of questions that were asked of us are as follows:

Are ICFs good for use in rocky terrain?
ICFs prove to be exceptional for rocky terrains due to their simple use with frost proof shallow footings.  Frost proof shallow footings require minimal depth below slab level and allow for a continuous barrier with the ICF wall.  It is also easy to change/adjust elevation heights of footings and ICF walls, as needed, due to rocky terrains.

Are ICFs good for use in multi-story applications?
ICFs may be used for multi-story applications, just as any other building material.  In residential uses ICFs are commonly used in basements, as well as multiple upper levels.  ICFs may also be used in commercial applications for such facilities as 4-5 story hotels or apartment buildings, big-box stores and municipal buildings, among others.

ICFs can be easily used for 1-1/2 stories.

This house was completed with ICF on all three levels: walk-out basement, main floor and second floor.

Generally, ICFs are used for full basements and main floor houses.

In this case ICFs were used for a basement, main floor and second floor as an addition on to an old stone house.

The above projects were all completed in and around the Manhattan, KS area.
