Maintenance Tips

During the summer months there are many maintenance needs to cover in order to ensure the propoer life span of the products used to construct your home.  With nice weather one should examine decking and patio materials.  It is important to look for damage due to rot or insect infestation.  Also, inspect concrete patios for cracking and deterioration.  Ensure structural integrity of deck structure and security of all stairs and railings.  If any problems are found they should be attended to as soon as possible to avoid further damage.  One may also reseal or stain decking and concrete patios and porches.

Other tips to consider:
  • After the 'storm season' check for damaged roofing and  flashing materials.  Repair these items as needed.
  • Check furnace air filter.  Replace as needed, according to cleanliness and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Check caulking around all bathroom and kitchen fixtures.  Renew as needed to ensure optimal moisture resistance.
