Summer is in full swing and it appears that our community is going to have yet another record breaking tourism season! Along with the excitement of summer, we have to pause and remember that it is also hurricane season. If you DO NOT have a plan in place for your home and business, we encourage you to please do so. If you DO have a plan, pull it off the shelf, dust it off and re-educate yourself and your staff on its various aspects. For those who do not have a plan we suggest that you use the Bay County Emergency Operations Centers "Continuity of Operations Plan for Businesses (COOP)". It's a great starting point that you can use and customize to your business. Feel free to stop by our office (235 W. 5th Street) to pick up a FREE disc.

We hope that you have been receiving your new Governmental Affairs Updates a new service to keep you informed on issues affecting our community and your business. Please stay informed and help us help you!

MILITARY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

This Military Affairs Committee (MAC) of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1946 and is rich in the history of providing good public relations between our military bases and the business community.

The mission of MAC is to develop understanding, support and goodwill between our men and women in uniform and the local business and civic leaders. The committee stages various events and receptions to welcome visiting military officials and guests to the Bay County area.

BUSINESS REFERRAL NETWORK MEETINGS

Four different Business Referral Network (BRN) groups meet bi-monthly for lunch meetings to network and share business leads/referrals with other group members.

Only one member of each group may belong to a particular business/trade, i.e. only one person in banking, to allow for no direct competition.
