Early April at Village Gardens!
Greetings!

Spring is here!  While we are still suffering the ups and downs of the thermometer, we are definitely feeling the spring planting itch!

Friday, the 10th, we will be receiving a large truck of perennials and herbs to supplement what Lisa didn't have space to grow!  Be sure to get in on the $1.99 perennials and herbs while they last!  Some examples of these great buys are Candytuft, Dianthus, Columbine, Sedum and so much more!  In addition to the perennials, we have a large selection of your basic herbs for $1.99 a 4-pack.  That's only $.50 a plant!  You can't get any cheaper than that!

One of our trucks of trees and shrubs will arrive at the Nursery on Tuesday the 14th.  While we have a great deal of stock already, we have only just begun!

We will be sending you a little more e-mails than normal this month, as we are gearing up for a busy season.  As we bring in items that are an unbelievable sale or just some really cool products, we will be sure to let you know!

Each Saturday at 10:00 am, Lisa will be holding a variety of gardening classes.  These gardening classes will either be FREE or just a nominal fee.  Click Here to current class schedule and more details on our weekend Classes

Due to the popularity and demand for another "How to Make an Ivy Topiary," an extra class will be held on Sunday, April 19th at 4:00.  Lisa will teach you how to make an ivy topiary and you can take one home in less than 2 hours!  This class is available for $45.00, which includes instruction and class materials.  Bring a drink and join us for an evening of creativity and gardening fun!  You must register for this class no later than Friday, April 17!

Throughout the winter, Lisa and I have worked hard to find you new and exciting garden products.  Below, is just a sample of new additions!
Garden for the Cause Products Garden for the Cause Nozzle

In the fight against breast cancer, we have been introduced to a new line of pink tools, "Garden for the Cause". A portion of all sales of this new line will go directly to NBCF, one of the most respected foundations in the fight against breast cancer. Village Gardens
proud to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

In support of the Appomattox Relay for Life activities, Village Garden has donated a Garden for the Cure Nozzle and $5.00 Gift Certificate!

Not only do they support a great cause, you can count on your husband or son leaving your tools alone!
Rain Barrels
 Rain Barrel
Rain barrels are becoming a necessity in the garden with the recent droughts!  To solve this problem, we now stock 50 Gallon Rain Barrels!  Not only are these nice looking, you can connect them as well!

ACHLA rain barrels feature a removable debris screen and the built-in 4' hose with thumb valve stores neatly in the slot at the top of the barrel.  A fool-proof linking kit is included with every barrel!

While the suggested Retail Price is $149.99, we are offering them for only $124.99!

Soil Moist Products
 Soil Moist

Soil Moist has been developed to reduce the amount of water needed to maintain vigorous plants and other green goods. When mixed in the soil, the crystals will soften and swell as water is added and absorbed.

When the potting system dries, the polymer will release its water to the plant. Soil Moist acts as a water reservoir--even during periods of drought the stored water is released to the plant.

The expansion and retraction of the polymer during the watering cycle helps soil aeration, which is important to all plants.  Note: Soil Moist must be incorporated into the soil at the root level of the plant/green good. Do not top dress or place on the surface.

Beautiful New Planter Line!

ArtStone Planters are made of a resin composite mixture which provides durability and strength in all environments. In colder temperatures, covering or ArtStone Plantersbringing your planters indoors extends the life of the planter.

Village Gardens offers ArtStone planters in several different colors.  These pots have a convenient "Water Minder" feature, or for outdoor drainage, simply pull the plug!

These planters will make awesome mixed containers... just imagine an arrangement of Hot Pink Waves with a Large Green Spike in a deep purple planter!

Echinacea 'Tiki Torch'
 Tiki Torch Echinacea
With so many new coneflowers on the market, it is hard to keep track of the "keepers", but 'Tiki Torch' will be just that. Massive, 4.5" orange petals around the central cone make a vibrant splash in the garden. Pair with deep purples of salvia or cool colors of daylilies for a nice display.

These long-blooming perennials attract butterflies and can be used in a wide range of landscape settings. Tolerates dry, poor soils; easy to grow. Excellent cut flowers.  Grows 28-36 inches!

We are now getting in trucks weekly of trees, shrubs, perennials, herbs and more!  Lisa has been working diligently in the greenhouses over the winter months to make sure we will be able to offer you a great variety of plants at great prices!

Our Spring and Summer hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm and Sundays 1 pm to 4 pm!  We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,
