Pansy's Are Here!
Planting Pansy'sPansy's are one of the first sure signs of spring!  While your pansy's should have wintered over,  nothing brightens up the dreary gray of late winter like Pansies!  We are now fully stocked with pansy's and violas in every color, primrose's in mixed colors and snapdragons!

Plant your pansies in sun, feed them frequently, and keep on picking the pretty flowers! No other flower gives quite so much satisfaction as the versatile pansy.
It's Cole Crop Season Already!
Growing LettuceThe first vegetables that are ready to be set out in the spring are called "Cole Crops."  The term "cole" actually means stem and has nothing to do with with the fact that these vegetables are tolerant to the cold!

We have carefully selected varieties of Cabbage, Cauliflower, Brocolli, Brussels Sprouts and Kale that grow best here.  According to the Cooperative Extension Office, the best time to plant these crops is between the Middle of March and the end of April.  To view the 2009 Planting & Harvesting Guide, Click Here

Asparagus, Strawberries, Rhubarb, Onion Sets, Seed Potatoes & More!
All of your favorite root & bulb vegetables are at Village  Garden Fresh AsparagusGreenhouses!  Our Seed Potatoes and Onion Sets will be arriving the first week of March.  These vegetables are not only easy to grow, they keep for long periods of time!

As with our other vegetables, we have carefully selected varieties that perform well here.  According to the Cooperative Extension Office, the time to plant is now!  To view the 2009 Planting & Harvesting Guide, Click Here!

It's Almost Time to Plant Your Backyard Orchard!Mixed Fruit
In this troubled economy, with ever increasing food and fuel prices, now is a great time to plant a backyard orchard to help reduce your grocery bill. Besides providing fresh fruit in season, fruit trees provide beautiful spring blooms which enhance your landscape and brighten your mood!

We are fully stocked on apples, pears, peaches, plums, figs, cherries, and of course, your small fruit such as blackberries, raspberries, muscadines and grapes!  We recommend planting about the middle of March!

Our blueberries will be arriving about the first of March!

Landscaping Design & Install
Landscaped Home
With Spring just around the corner, we are starting to book Landscape Design and Installation jobs.

We offer several options for our residential customers!  Many of our customers enjoy working in the yard, but do not know where to begin.  Our Residential Consultation Service will help you plan your landscape and avoid costly errors.  Call us today to set up a one-hour consultation for the bargain price of $35.00!

Many customers need someone just to "Design and Estimate" their landscaping.  For those customers, we will meet with you and provide a Landscape Plan and cost estimate.

And of course, we can provide full Design and Installation services.  Through our network of contractors, we can offer hardscaping such as patios, sidewalks, and retaining walls.

Before the season takes hold, call us today at (434) 352-5889 to make your Consultation Appointment!
Come and visit us on a regular basis!  While we haven't set all our plants out quite yet, we have perennial Primrose and Viola's and Pansy's in bloom, which really brightens up a sunny space!  Soon, the Carolina Jasmine and Forsythia bushes will bloom and announce the beginning of Spring!

We hope to see you soon!
