Hello, PFM Family!
I am so glad for the delightfully warm welcome that you have given to me and my family over these past few weeks. We have felt overwhelmed (in a good way) by your gracious kindness to us as we've slowly settled into a new church family. You have already made us feel like we are home, and we couldn't be happier! We appreciate your continued support, encouragement, and prayer as we continue to transition to Portage.
I count it a blessing that I get to serve with a committed staff, lead with a dedicated leadership team, and worship with an awesome congregation. I'm thankful for what we've already experienced and I can't wait to see what's next. Let's keep seeking the Lord and praying for people to encounter Him at PFM. Let's keep looking for where God is at work and join Him there. Let's keep praying along the lines of Ephesians 3:20-21: "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

SUMMER PFMC FAMILY PICNICS
Our summer family picnics have been phenominal. Good food, great fellowship, and a few good tosses of the Frisbee have made for a wonderful afternoon.
You don't want to miss our last picnic of the summer on August 26. Bring your lunch, blankets, and lawn chairs for an afternoon of fellowship following the 2nd service.

Happy Anniversary to both our Pastor's and their lovely wives. Pastor Kevin and Cathy celebrated their 14th anniversary August 1. Pastor Adam and Emily look forward to celebrating 11 years together, August 10. Thank you for being great Godly examples of loving marriages.
Congratulations to newlyweds Phu and Ashley Trieu who were married July 13. More congratulations are due to newlyweds Drew and Barb Meinema who were married August 4. Prayers go with you as you begin your married lives together.
Congratulations to new grandparents John and Lynda Haskins, and Bill and Sue LaBurn. John and Lynda welcomed their first grandchild, Lane Nicholas Bergquist born to Heather and Nick on June 3. Sue and Bill welcomed their sixth grandchild, Lyla Grace Blakeney born to Heidi and Jake on July 12. No doubt both babies will be truly spoiled.
We recycle! Did you see the nice blue recycling bin by the coat hangers? We hope you take your bulletins home with you and study them. However, we understand you may have a paper overload in your Bible. Please don't throw those away, recycle. Thank you.
Audio/Visual Techs Needed - Techs are needed to man the sound booth and operate the worship computer during our Sunday services. All levels of experience welcome, training provided. Please contact Kevin DeVries or the church office with any questions.

Planning Ahead:
September 9 All Church Fall Kick-Off. New Sunday Schools classes, Children's Programming, New Sermon Series.
October 7 Portage Free Methodist Church 50th Anniversary Celebration. We are looking forward to celebrating God's many blessings over the past 50 years here at PFMC. In preparation we are asking you to dig through your drawers and bring to the office any old pictures, pictorial directories (older than 2000), and memories. We can't wait to celebrate.

Awana Registration/Orientation Night
August 22 6:30-8:00 PM
6:30-7:15 PM parents will be registering their children and trying on uniforms. Children can participate in games and activities downstairs.
7:15-8:00 PM parents join us in the sanctuary for mandatory orientation and a chance to meet your Awana leader. Children will enjoy a video and popcorn in the gym.

Dear church family
I want to thank you so much for all the prayers, cards, visits and gifts during my stay here at Evergreen and my recent hospital stay. It means so much to me and lifts my spirits as I think fondly of all of you. I miss you and pray for you too! What a wonderful church family.
