July 2012
Portage Free Methodist Church
Greetings to our new church family! We're so excited about being at PFMC!  The love with which you have embraced our family is so wonderful and real -- the kind of stuff that comes from a gracious God.  Thank you very much indeed!   Our Worship time, Communion, and even a picnic made for a great day.  We look forward to getting to know you better and better.

I want to remind you of my challenge for us to be reading 1st John this summer.  An outline of the week's focus can be found online and in the bulletin.  If you take the time to read the coming passage before Sunday, I believe that the door will be wide open for God's Word of Life (Logos Zoe) to be alive in us as we gather for worship.  Someone wrote that they were reading this week's passage in 1st John with their kids.  Excellent!  I believe that the Lord has studying this for a reason.  Let's pursue Him together.

This Sunday, we're looking at 1 John 1:5-2:14.  Sin, forgiveness, darkness, light. The good news of the Gospel is that "if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense -- Jesus Christ, the Righteous One."  Freedom is here!

See you Sunday,
Pastor Adam

To PFM church family

Thank you for the farewell party. The money from the garage sale was a huge blessing for the Harbor. All of the kind words, hugs and love were a huge blessing to us.  Love, love, love the cards. Thank you all for 4 great years. We're excited for PFMC and expect great things.

Dear Friends in Portage,

We want to thank you for the warm welcome you gave us in April. It's always encouraging to meet our supporters and to put a face with the names of the people who respond to our newsletters and who pray for us.  We also want to thank you for your faithful financial support for our ministry. Your generosity is a blessing to us! Thank you for caring for our family.

Love, Julie & Keith Winslow

Praise God for answer to prayer. I thank you, my church family, for all of
the support in prayer, visits, calls, cards, flowers, and food during my
surgery and recovery. How wonderful to have such a caring family of
Christian friends.
