Dear ,
2010 is almost over. Please consider including SOTENI in your year-end charitable giving. It is a win-win! Your donation may save you tax dollars and will help bring sustainable change to children and adults in our four Villages of Hope in rural Kenya!
A $50 gift can provide fertilizer for banana plants in SOTENI Village of Hope-Ugenya. The bananas provide food for local people and revenue to support AIDS education and prevention programs.
A $100 gift can provide 600 pounds of chicken feed for the poultry project in SOTENI Village of Hope-Mituntu, another revenue generating endeavor that can fund projects like the community resource center.
A $300 gift can provide a month's worth of medicine for the health center in SOTENI Village of Hope-Mbakal0. The center is moving to a new temporary facility at the end of December.
A $500 gift can provide annual administrative support for the women's empowerment project in SVH-Mituntu. Through this multi-week training program, women learn new skills and business acumen that help them become self-sufficient.
A $1,000 gift can purchase computers for internet access and literacy training at the community resource center in SVH-Mituntu.
A $2,000 gift can provide needed support for the AIDS Barefoot Doctors program in three of our Villages of Hope. The ABD's bring hope, understanding and resources, such as nutrition counseling and clean water, to AIDS victims and their families.
A $75,000 gift will allow SOTENI to construct a new expanded health center in SVH-Mbakalo that will include maternal and child health programs and HIV/AIDS testing and counseling. $12,500 more can buy much needed equipment and staff the center for one year.
These programs eat away at the root causes of HIV/AIDS - poverty, powerlessness and unsafe living conditions. SOTENI needs your tax-deductible gifts to continue moving forward in 2011. Give to SOTENI, not to Uncle Sam! There is so much more we can accomplish together.
On behalf of SOTENI's board, staff and volunteers and the 10,000 rural Kenyans who benefit from your generosity, we wish you a happy, healthy and blessed New Year!
Sincerely, Victoria Wulsin Founder and Board Chair
