Dear Friend,

One week to go... That is all we have left until Tuesday, August 2nd, Primary Election Day, and we are going to keep on walking and talking to as many voters as possible.
Last Thursday we received the Endorsement of the Madison County Journal  and last month we received the Endorsement of the Jackson Association of Realtors.

Madison County Journal:

"Incumbent District 3 Supervisor D.I. Smith has been a stalwart in the battle for good government in Madison County and deserves a second term.

D.I. Smith has served honorably and well. What makes him an anomaly is that he has been a voice of truth and reason in the barren and brutal land of Madison County politics.

Smith is beholden to no one and speaks his mind, which frightens some and often ignites controversy - for the right reasons, of course.

Four years ago D.I. stood in the gap to block the first tax increase in decades in Madison County that Tim Johnson and his gang railroaded through in order to build an interchange for the federal government, a construction project that has since failed because the local politicos refused MDOT oversight of their shenanigans and pulled the plug."

Jackson Association of Realtors:

"We believe D.I. Smith will continue to do a great job as Madison County Supervisor, District 3," said Stephanie Nix, Governmental Affairs Committee of the Jackson Association of Realtors. "After serving 30 years active duty with the Army and retiring as a Colonel, DI is now fighting for the citizens of Madison County. He has fought for low taxes, openness and transparency in Madison county government, and has worked together with REALTORS as a founder and delegate of the Federation of Madison County Homeowner Associations."

"DI is not a career politician. As a first term incumbent, he has already been recognized for
his proactive and passionate commitment to homeowners and taxpayers at the local, state, and national levels

Won't Go Along to Get Along!

I'm glad D.I. Smith is looking out for me.

In case I missed you here is my campaign "push card".

I want to remind you about three important components of our campaign that I need your help with in the coming days:

1. Signs for Polling Places:  Please call or email to make arrangements to pick up signs to put up at polling places on Tuesday morning. We will have signs, stakes and a plan about where they should be placed on Tuesday morning.

2. Get-Out-The-Vote: This last week of the campaign, please begin e-mailing, texting and calling your friends to remind them to vote this coming Tuesday. Let's not take anything for granted, and if you can help me spread the word to get-out-the-vote on Tuesday, it would mean so much to our campaign.

3. Victory Party!:  Linda and I want to personally invite you to join us on Election Night at the AJ's on the Lake in the Township on Highland Colony beginning at 7:30 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for all of us to spend time together and watch the returns from races in Madison County and across Mississippi. We will have a number of television monitors there so we can all keep an eye on the races that are so important.
Please forward this e-mail to your personal e-mail list, and ask your friends to do the same. If you have any questions about helping at the precincts or about Tuesday night's Victory Party, or any other questions, please contact me by email at DI@DISmith.com or by phone at (601) 707-8845.

Thank you for all you have done for Linda and me! I am so honored to be your Madison County Supervisor, and I hope to see you soon.

May God bless you.
D.I. Smith

Madison County Supervisor

District 3
