Boylan Group is delighted to announce the opening of a new purpose-built warehousing and distribution facility at Sydney's Eastern Creek.

Boylan Group CEO Norm Farrell said the facility would enable the company to provide world-class service in the supply and delivery of crash cushions, TMAs and safety barrier products.

Heading the new warehouse facility is Shaun McCann, an experienced operations supervisor who brings enthusiasm and excellent customer focus to the business, he said.

The facility will also be available for product displays.

"These displays will be available to our contractor customers to demonstrate product to their end-user clients," he said.

Truck driver nabbed with feet on dashboard

A week-long police crackdown on poor driving practices in the UK saw truck drivers
caught on camera with their feet on the dashboard, eating sandwiches and using computers.

Highways Magazine reported that the crackdown, known as Operation Wyken, resulted

in about 170 drivers being stopped on three major roads in the English county of Suffolk.

Sgt Paul Ward said the majority of the 184 offences recorded were for drivers not

wearing a seatbelt, but a "significant" amount were stopped for using a mobile phone.

"One driver was eating a sandwich with his left hand, holding a magazine with his right

and it appeared like he had one finger around the steering wheel," Sgt Ward said.

Another was seen with his feet on the dashboard.

"Even if he's got cruise control on his truck, if his feet are on the dashboard he's not

in a position to brake if something happens in front of him," said Sgt Ward.

Smart sensors ease city parking congestion

Smart sensors are to be used in central London streets to help reduce parking problems.

The sensors, which will be installed in parking bays in the Westminster area, will relay up-to-date information about parking space availability to an online system, which people will then be able view on their smartphone, iPad or tablet to find a vacant space.

Westminster Council hopes the scheme will reduce congestion and minimise the need for motorists to endlessly trawl streets searching for somewhere to park.

Superior, high-tech barrier systems are absolutely crucial in preventing accidents, as this footage shows.

The attempted theft of a eight-tonne road roller in Scotland last year was only foiled after one of the would-be thieves became trapped under the vehicle.

The road roller was taken from a roadside work site at Tranent where it was being used for resurfacing work. A short time later, emergency services were called out after one of the offenders became trapped under the roller.

He was eventually freed by firefighters and taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with a serious leg injury.

Three men, including the injured man, were later charged with the attempted theft.

                    Boylan Bullets shine again

The Boylan Bullets have done it again - blitzing all competition to take out the Toowoomba Indoor Sports cricket grand final for the second year in a row. Team member Adam Currie said: "Everyone played well and we got home relatively comfortably. Adam Van Genderen got a well-deserved player of the finals - even if he is bruised and sore as a result."

Clockwise from top: the US Legends Series; Matthew Brabham accepts his winner's cheque; and Jack Le Brocq in action at Sandown.

The Brabham name is once again in the spotlight after 18-year-old Matthew Brabham won the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship powered by Mazda and the Rookie of the Year recently at the Virginia International Raceway.

The third generation driver secured his first championship by finishing 8th in the final round of the hotly-contested series.

Having only to finish higher than 14th to win the title, the Boylan Team Safety youth ambassador carefully negotiated the first corner and drove just quickly enough to stay out of trouble and bring the DTE Group, Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing #83, home safely. However, his race was not without drama as the car he was following started leaking oil all over Matthew's visor.

By the end of the race he could hardly see where he was going, which made the last few laps very difficult.

The win earned Matty Brabs a $375,000 cheque to put into the next rung of the Mazda Road to Indy ladder. All the top teams from the Star Mazda series have expressed interest in having Matthew drive for them next year, and he hopes to be able to announce next year's plans in the near future.

Boylan-sponsored driver Daniel Holihan is set to make the switch from go-karting to Speedway's US Legends Series.

The 23-year-old currently races for the Kosmic Racing Australia Team in the CIK-KF1 Pro Light class.

However, he is seeking additional sponsorship for his next move into the US Legends Series at Sydney Speedway. He will also be racing in the US.

The US Legends Series started in 1992 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The concept was born from a need for a fun and low-cost "spec" class of racing that was affordable for everyone. Since that time, the Legends Cars have become one of the fastest growing segments of motorsport .

If you can help with sponsorship for Daniel, please email him at talent2_racing@hotmail.com

Boylan-sponsored driver Jack Le Brocq has walked away from Round 6 of the Australian Formula Ford Championship at Sandown Raceway by further extending his championship lead to 50 points. With a possible 122 points on offer for the remaining two rounds, Jack could potentially wrap the championship up at Bathurst with a complete round remaining. Jack finished the weekend 2nd overall after being very close to claiming the round victory.

"It is an amazing feeling having this advantage with two rounds remaining," Jack said.

"We all know that anything could still happen, especially with the next round being at Bathurst - so we have done exactly what we wanted in case the unexpected happens."

It was a tough weekend for James Moffat at the recent Sandown 500.

The Boylan-sponsored driver finished race 20, the opening race of the endurance season, in 26th place after a difficult day at the track.
Two eventful qualifying sprint races on Saturday left co-driver Alex Davison finishing 10th and James finishing 11th in the final qualifying race.
Sunday saw the duo starting 16th with Davison taking the first stint and James taking over the #18 Falcon FG in Lap 60 - two laps down after a piece of air box that jammed the throttle had to be removed - and re-joining in position 27.
James finished Sunday's race 26th overall and remains 23rd in the 2012 V8 Supercar Championship with the iconic Bathurst 1000 just around the corner.
