Above: A fun new music video clip has propelled BTS into the headlines.

Boylan Traffic Solutions was a star performer on the Today Show on Channel 9 recently when a fun new music clip by blues band Stormcellar made the week's Most Clicked segment.
The video was filmed in March at our Huntingwood site using VMS boards in a way you've never seen them before. The clip has become so popular that it featured on the Most Clicked segment of the show - alongside videos of stars stripping off for charity and Australia's annual husband-dragging competition! SpeedCheck - our new compact, low-cost speed advisory sign - is proving popular in a wide range of industries. Because of the huge number of inquiries we're getting from mines, construction companies, councils and commercial operations from all around Australia, we've put together a video that demonstrates the product's features and the ease by which it can be installed and programmed.

BarrierGuard 800 West Gate deployment

BG
The BarrierGuard 800's groundbreaking design features are making it a popular product of choice for a growing number of contractors and government agencies around Australia.
Boylan Traffic Solutions has won the contract to supply 1000 metres of the BG800 to John Holland for work on Melbourne's West Gate Bridge upgrade.
BTS national operations manager Wayne Duckworth said the 1000 metres of barrier is the initial deployment, with a further 600 metres anticipated in the next few months.
"It is the first deployment of its kind in Australia as it will be interposed to replace existing concrete barrier," Wayne said.
"It will be fixed at either end to the concrete barrier, as well as being secured to the bridge structure," he said.
Boylan Traffic Solutions is the sole Australian distributor of the BarrierGuard 800, a state-of-the-art steel barrier which is light and speedy to deploy.

Were you one of the thousands
fooled by this email?

            pothole1

         pothole2

The above email doing the rounds purports to show a new road safety strategy being used in Eastern Canada.
In fact, it's a fake ... the "sticker" on the road is nothing more than a prop for an ad campaign for a vehicle suspension supplier. Why anyone would pretend it was a genuine road safety initiative is a mystery. Surely, any speed-reducing strategy that involved potholes could only be flawed. Can you imagine the accidents that would result from drivers suddenly swerving to avoid damage to their vehicle's suspension?

Memories are made of this ....

Fun day ... Allan Moffat, Peter Boylan and Mal Mitchell (top) and Noel Mellor (above)
We've been heartened by the response to our Drive Days staged for clients in Brisbane and Sydney recently. Our special guest driver - legendary touring car champion Allan Moffat, OBE - gave generously of his time and, judging by the feedback, was a real hit with everyone who met him.
The following email to BTS Queensland rep Craig Rush from Noel Mellor, of McIlwain Civil, ably describes the thrill of the day:

Dear Craig,
Thanks for the photos. The hot laps day was one of the best days of my life. I'm still talking about it. As a contemporary of Allan Moffat, I watched his legendary duels with Peter Brock et al. It was such a thrill to be driven around the track by him. Thanks to you, Peter and all the Boylan staff for your friendly and welcoming hospitality.

Kind regards
Noel

Register your teen for the World's Largest Driving Lesson

learner

I
f you have a teenager learning to drive, you might like to suggest they register for an event that organisers hope will make the Guinness World Book of Records.
The World's Largest Driving Lesson, being held on Wednesday, April 28, is a signature event of the Fatality Free Friday National Road Safety Campaign. The event will be a world first and will launch a month of activities centred on road safety and reducing Australia's road fatalities.
In 10 towns and cities around the nation, learner drivers and their instructors will take part in a simultaneous driving lesson.
Fatality Free Friday organiser Russell White said the event was a way of highlighting the importance of reducing fatalities and crash-related injuries on Australia's roads.
"Professional training of new drivers is a key component in reducing road trauma, particularly amongst young drivers," Mr White said.
The world record component will be verified by the Guinness Book of Records. About 250 learner drivers are expected to take part in simultaneous driving lessons in Darwin, Townsville, the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne (two venues), Hobart and Adelaide. Interested teens can register through their driving school instructors.
