President's Message
Dear Colleagues,
Awesome! Simply awesome--what our members have done and continue to do this year to help us all make money! Because of your creativity, dedication and generosity our membership can look forward to several more months of interesting programs with practical advice, outstanding luncheon speakers, hip social events, great industry networking events and our first Habitat for Humanity build.
In addition, we have many folks working "behind the scenes" doing important work such as interviewing Candidates and writing letter of recommendations. Thank you Richard Howard, CCIM and Bob Watson, CCIM who took on this brand new task, which is the result of a new CCIM Institute requirement.
Hip, hip hurray to Kelly Ferguson, CCIM! With two very young children and working full-time, Kelly still manages to deftly steward our many CI educational classes, the lifeblood of our organization. Amazing!

Region 4 Fishing Tournament Recap
The inaugural Region 4 2010 Reelin' & Dealin' fishing tournament at the Hackberry Rod & Gun Club at Lake Charles, Louisiana turned out to be a true success. Participants included Stephen Hausser, CCIM of the Houston Chapter, Matt Redd, CCIM, Matt Ritchie, CCIM, Andrew Vanchieri, CCIM, Ricky Hinch, Carmen Austin, CCIM & Carmen's husband Matt Austin of the Louisiana Chapter. The group had a great time getting to know one another and discussing their various markets and market beating strategies. Each boat that fished limited out on speckled trout and a few fisherman also caught some redfish. The group caught nearly 160 fish and established some connections that could eventually lead to some deals as well!

STDBOnline.com Tip of the Month

Many CCIM's frequently ask where and how they can obtain Traffic Count data inside The New Site Analysis 3.0 within STDBonline.
Traffic Counts can be obtained inside Site Analysis 3.0 by either creating a study area and running the Traffic Count Reports or by turning on the Traffic Count Layers in the Map Layers tab.
· To obtain Traffic Count reports for a given study area, first create and outline your desired study area location by either rings, drive times, standard geography, etc. .
· Then click the option to "Run Reports" and choose the study area you have created. From there once you have selected the appropriate study area to run Traffic Count Reports for, scroll down the list of reports to the very bottom and choose from 3 Traffic Count Reports.
· Traffic Count Map
· Traffic Count Profile
· Traffic Map - Close Up
· To turn on the Traffic Count Layer inside Site Analysis 3.0, simply click on the "Map Layers" button in the middle of the gray toolbar located in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
· From there select the "Base" tab and click on the triangle that says Traffic Counts. Select counts in increments between 0-100,000 cars.
· You need to be zoomed in to your specific area first before proceeding with Map Layers.
Click Here for a link to a Traffic Counts Calculation PDF Document that will provide you the formula to calculate Traffic Counts in any certain location. | |
