Greetings!
It's nearly here! Homecoming 2012: Back to the Future, will take over campus next week, October 5-7. We are looking forward to seeing many of you back on campus to celebrate chances to reconnect with friends as well as enjoying the beauty of our campus in fall splendor.
The weekend kicks off with a Scholarship Lunch, Career Explo and Pizza Sam's Night on Friday, followed by a jam-packed Saturday that includes the Reinke 5k Memorial run/walk, parade, volleyball and football games, departmental receptions, Alumni Awards & Choir concert and a new alumni-student party at the Pine River Country Club sponsored by Greek life. On Sunday, we will have our normal all-alumni breakfast, but will also add the opportunity for conversation about developing our regional groups (Roundtables) and will have two options for worship. On top of these all-alum events, we have special events for the 50 and 25 year classes. It will be fun weekend and we hope to see you on campus!
Also, as a reminder of our previous email, we will be hosting a memorial service for Dr. Eugene "Doc" Pattison'56 at noon in the Chapel on Homecoming Saturday (October 6) for those who would like to attend.
Go Scots!

Campus Hosting Policy
Upcoming plans for Homecoming have revived some discussion regarding the campus hosting policy that the college implemented last spring. Those of you who follow us on Facebook may have seen some of the posts by our alumni and current students. Please know that student safety is our priority; this policy was developed after a thorough review of policies and best practices nation-wide.
The policy can be viewed at this LINK.
While this policy applies to all small housing units on campus, there are those who worry that it is an attempt to harm the Greek system. On the contrary, we want a thriving Greek culture at Alma, and are supporting it by working toward building fraternity houses for the first time in our history as well as hiring our first Greek Advisor, Danielle Brandreth. We look forward to introducing Danielle to the alumni at Homecoming.
If you have any questions about the policy, please refer them to Vice President Nick Piccolo or Director of Student Life, Dave Blandford at (989) 463-7147.
