Leads Power Networking! |
Are you looking for a way to get more business exposure? If you are, then you might want to come to one of our Power LEADS Networking meetings, held every Friday at the Chamber office, beginning at 7:45 a.m. You can usually count on at least 65 businesses in attendance at LEADS meeting.
The LEADS Power Networking Group co-chairs for this year are Don Preston, Business Transition Partners and Carol Gaige, Denton County Friends of the Family.
We start off the morning with some coffee at 7:45 a.m. and then at 8:00 a.m., we officially begin the meeting. We have a 10-minute spotlight from a member of the group. Then, you have 45 seconds to tell everyone about your business and what you do. We end the meeting with a business education component.
First time Chamber partners receive one minute to tell everyone about the business.
We do have network capabilities, so if you would like to do a presentation on-line, we can accommodate you. If you would like to do a Power Point presentation, we can help you out as well, as long as you bring your laptop.
Did we mention that this is a FREE event that takes place EVERY Friday morning at the Chamber office, unless otherwise noted.

Chairman's Message
Schools will back soon. Summer is almost over. Has your organization or business been sizzling this summer? Hold your business and organization up to a mirror. What does it look like? What do you want it to look like? How much is in your control? Do a little introspection. What have you done to "power up" during the dog days of summer? Is the summer usually a time of increased activity or decreased activity? If it is the latter, I hope you have used this downtime to: 1) determine if you have met or exceeded the goals you set at the beginning of the year; 2) examine your business model and tweak it if need be; 3) complete continuing education requirements; 4) cross-train key employees and/or officers; 5) put together procedural manuals for each job because you never know when you might lose a key employee; 6) determine your return on equity or return on personal satisfaction for every organization to which you belong; 7) amp up your activity to better position your organization or business; 8) review expenses to determine which ones can be eliminated or reduced; 9) review existing legal documents such as leases, partnership agreements, wills, trusts, and business continuation agreements to make sure they are as current today as when you implemented them; 10) review your insurance programs for need, coverage and pricing; and/or 11) take that needed time off to refresh your batteries! Are you having fun? If not, what, if anything, can you do to enrich your life? Control those tasks you can control and in so doing, ratchet up your enjoyment. In those situations where you cannot control your time or your tasks, you can control your attitude. Do all you can to put positives in your day. Studies suggest that an individual uses more energy when in a negative state of mind than in a positive state of mind. Use what you have at your disposal to improve your life - your incredible mind and your will power. Take a look at your diet and exercise routines. Take a close look at the people within your inner circle. Are they positive or negative? Are you positive or negative? Remember, you control your internal remote. If you don't like what you see, change the channel. Give yourself every opportunity for happiness. Surround yourself with positive people. Develop a support network. Break bad habits and develop healthy habits. If need be, work at having fun. That's right, make fun a habit. Add laughter to your daily routine. Extend a smile with every handshake. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I'd like to extend my thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you at different chamber events. In the meantime, enjoy what is left of summer. Be safe. Be prosperous. And above all else, have fun!

POWER HOUR WORKSHOP
Steve Black, #1 Trainer for Brian Tracy's Workshops to share his secrets on
"How to Sell in a Tough Economy and Generate More Referrals"
Wednesday, August 26th
Registration starts at 11:30 a.m.
Speaker begins at 11:45 a.m.
$10/person, bring your own lunch!
($15 for potential members)
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: BRIAN TRACY PROGRAM's most sought after trainer has been helping salespeople throughout the US and Canada to overachieve their goals and earn higher incomes for over six years.
Sales managers look forward to having him speak to their salespeople, because as an "outside authority", he can reinforce key messages that the sales manager may be trying to communicate to the salespeople. After his workshop the salespeople will be fired up, with a little more bounce in their step as his enthusiasm is contagious. Be assured that he will also give them information straight from Brian Tracy that the salespeople can take to the street immediately to make sales with.
Salespeople love to listen to him, as he shares real life experiences to them. Having been in the trenches for over eleven years, his message appeals to both the "green pea" and the "seasoned professional". Here is what his clients say about him:
"WOW! What a seminar! ... Our reps left your meeting more fired up than I have seen them in a couple of years!!! ... I believe that as a result of your efforts sales will grow faster than if we had not been exposed to your enthusiasm and methods" -Tom Buenz, District Sales Manager, SMITH KLINE BEECHAM
" ...we found your workshop to be informative, educational, and very entertaining. We would certainly recommend this seminar to other Financial Planners." - Jon Erik Strousland, Branch manager, A.G.EDWARDS
" ...THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! ... Our whole team really got fired up from your workshop. It was ENTERTAINING, EDUCATIONAL, and TARGETED TO WHAT WE DO .. We have had other seminar companies in, however, it just seemed like they were "pitching" their products, while yours brought real value to the picture." - Jim Hardick, General Manager, BUZ POST PONTIAC-GMC-ISUZU
" ...All fifteen of my sales representatives left with just a little more bounce in their step" - Peter M. Polce, Division Sales Manager, CENTEX HOMES
" ... Steve took our areas of concern and areas that we wanted to expand on as an organization and brought them to light with his presentation ... I recommend this session for any company that wants to refresh their seasoned staff or motivate and teach their new staff. Thanks." -Linda M. Cole, General Manager, MICROAGE |
