Russia PArtnership meeting
Schedule of events
Next Russia Country Partnership Meeting will take place right after the exhibition in Moscow, on the 18th of October at the BC office. The details will be announced in September. The presentation from the last Partnership Meeting which took place in London on 23 March 2010 can be found here.
LECTURES AND WORKSHOPS

In February-April 2010 several lectures and workshops run by the representatives of UK institutions were held at the British Council Moscow.  The video materials from these events are now being finalized and will be sent to the universities who made the presentations for approval shortly. We have received positive feedback from the universities as well as from those who attended the events. We've also talked to online resources devoted to international education (e.g. begin.ru, egemetr.ru, studyabroad.ru), and they are interested in placing the links to the videos on their websites (subject to institutions' final approval).

We believe it is a good promotional opportunity and plan to continue such lectures and presentations. To improve the promotion next academic year, we are going to promote workshops among Russian schools and universities who have relevant study programmes and expressed interest in raising their students' awareness of the educational opportunities in the UK, thus engaging wider student audiences.

ACTION REQUIRED  It is best to position this as a series of events, so in order to put together a schedule for the coming year please let Tatiana Shashkova know by 31 August 2010 if you would be interested in being part of such a series of seminars/workshops/lectures, when would be the best time for you to come (an estimate will do at this stage) and what topic you'd like to cover. September and October will be quite busy for you with the start of the new academic year and for us with the preparation of Education UK exhibition, so please consider November - 1st half of December 2010 and February - April 2011.

online training for agents
Each year we run Education UK Online Training for Agents. The qualification is designed for agents and
individuals providing abroad education counseling. The course develops the candidates' ability to provide high quality information, resources and services to students seeking education in the UK. The course also develops their skills to source relevant information and update their knowledge about studying in the UK.

We ran the training between March and June 2010, and the final examination was sat on June 21.  18 representatives from various agents of Moscow, including 1 participant from St Petersburg, 1 from Krasnodar, 1 from Rostov-on-Don and 4 participants from Nizhny Novgorod took part in examination. The papers are now assessed, and the certificates will be awarded at Education UK Exhibition in October. Each certificate is assigned to the individual, not to the agent, and is valid for 3 years. Next training course for agents will be run in 2011. If you have any questions regarding Agents Online training, please contact Valentina Orlova.
