Parking Tips

No one likes to arrive at their "go-to" lot and not find a spot. It's frustrating! So here are a few lots that you may put into your pool of parking options:

  • Knox Court Parking Lot (Jackson St.)
  • Post Office Parking Lot (Jackson St.)
  • Police Dept. Parking Lot (Jackson St.)
  • Town Hall Parking Lot (Main St.)
  • South Main Square Parking Lot
  • DUMC Parking Lot (Main St.)
  • The Old IB School (South St.)
  • Warehouse Parking Lots (Depot St.)
  • Baker Sports Complex (Baker Dr., Davidson College Campus)

You may also consider bike riding or walking!  Just bring some comfortable totes or packs to carry your Market goods.

After you hunt, help water and weed the garden. It's growing fast and needs lots of TLC.

Get Loopy on the Green - 24 Hours

 Getting loopy

The Second Annual Loopy for a Cause, "the Sequel," starts tonight on the Davidson Town Green.

Neighbor, friend and endurance runner, Jeff McGonnell, will begin his 24-hours of running at 6 p.m. Why? Because he's raising awareness for Batten Disease and hoping to increase his donation for research this year.

Come out and support this Loopy dude. You have 24-hours to give him donations and encouragement, as he runs in circles on the Green, dressed in crazy costumes.

Movie showing at 7:30 p.m. tonight- Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  More movies and music to follow.

Loopy running will continue tomorrow and end at 6 p.m. Yes - he will stop!

This Week at the Davidson Farmer's Market!

The first June Market is here! Our DFM vendors are bringing lots of local, fresh goods tomorrow.

Millstone Meadows will have lamb and first-of-the-season raspberry, peach and blueberry tarts.

Our Market patrons asked for more fruit this season. So, here we go! Peaches and Cream and Twin Oaks continue to harvest strawberries. Barbee will have some early morning plums. C&O Farms will again deliver pints of raspberries and Peaches and Cream will have baskets of peaches and blackberries.

Correll Farms will have bell peppers, hot peppers and eggplant!  Summer crops are rolling-in. Twin Oaks says, "this is your last chance for broccoli." Barbee will be bringing white and bi-color sweet corn. Umm, umm, umm!

Come to the Market early to get your farm fresh goods, but please remember that the Market opens at 8 a.m. when the bell rings. Market vendors are not allowed to sell before this time. Feel free to look around and ask questions...as you wait for the bell!

Chef Vera is back to demo at 9 and 10 a.m.

Parking suggestions are posted in block below.

Here's a list of Market offerings!

See ya tomorrow,

Today, June 1, marks the first day of the Markets' Annual Pea Pod Fundraiser. The campaign kicked-off this morning with an electronic email sent to the newsletter distribution list.

The Market receives consistent support from corporate sponsors. But it doesn't stop there. In order to continue bringing local food to our community in a fun, lively, festival-style, the Market needs your community support.

All donations and sponsorships go directly to purchasing and repairing tents and tables; Market day equipment, chef demo supplies, marketing materials, advertising costs, overhead and office expenses, Market improvements, special events and education, community outreach and more!

Come by the DFM tent this Saturday and make a donation of any kind. Be a part of the Market family and help make each Market day come to life.

You may also donate here by using Paypal or Justgive.

Donation incentives may be redeemed at the Market!

Thank you - thank you!

The DFM is a 501c-3 non-profit. Donations are tax-deductible.

Chimichurri! Chef Vera

Chef Vera is back to Market tomorrow morning with two chef demos at 9 and 10 a.m.

She'll feature Big Oak's skirt steak, topped with loads of local herbs in a chimichurri sauce. Chimichurri may be used on any grilled meat and packs serious flavor!

To accompany, Chef Vera will prepare a delicious tomato salad.

Don't miss Vera, showing-off our fresh and local goods!
