Parking Tips

No one likes to arrive at their "go-to" lot and not find a spot. It's frustrating! So here are a few lots that you may put into your pool of parking options:

  • Knox Court Parking Lot (Jackson St.)
  • Post Office Parking Lot (Jackson St.)
  • Police Dept. Parking Lot (Jackson St.)
  • Town Hall Parking Lot (Main St.)
  • South Main Square Parking Lot
  • DUMC Parking Lot (Main St.)
  • The Old IB School (South St.)
  • Warehouse Parking Lots (Depot St.)
  • Baker Sports Complex (Baker Dr., Davidson College Campus)

You may also consider bike riding or walking!  Just bring some comfortable totes or packs to carry your Market goods.

New Growing Kids Club

 Jerry

Tomorrow, we are kicking-off the new Growing Kids Club. Join us anytime between 8 and 11 a.m., on the first and third Saturdays of each month, now through the end of October.

Thanks to our friends at Summit Coffee, we have created a small area where club kids may plant veggies. Not only will we watch things grow and eat from the land, but also learn about farming, composting, eating healthy - and more!  Club crafts and games will keep kids busy and having fun!

10 Club visits = $5 Market Bucks!

The Kids Club is located near the DFM booth.  Come by, check-in and get your official Kids Club Card.  See y'all tomorrow!

Welcome spring and the new Market season! From now until the end of October, you will see and feel the fresh and local energy in downtown Davidson, every Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.

We have an exciting day planned tomorrow, including two chef demos by Chef Vera Samuels, music by Barrie Howard, Kids Club kick-off, spring produce, new vendors, more offerings, veggie plants for your home garden, lots of eggs...and some strawberries! Come early!

Easter weekend has never tasted so good. Perfect timing!  Chef Vera will demo Classic French Toast and a spring-time Moroccan Kale Salad. Stop by the demo to watch, taste and pick-up the recipes.

Eggs!  Easter omelets or Easter egg hunts? Either way, they are local, fresh and delicious.

The Davidson Farmer's Market Dog Policy ~ Dog Owners Please Read

Pooch

The Davidson Farmer's Market welcomes our four-legged friends, but must insure the safety of our shoppers and vendors.

We understand that dogs can get excited, both by new friends at the Market and by the food all around them.

So that we can continue welcoming you and your dog in a safe and clean environment, please follow these guidelines:

-          All dogs must be kept on a leash of no longer than four feet (please lock retractable leashes at four feet or less).

-          Please be considerate of children, some of whom are smaller than some dogs, and elderly patrons, that can easily trip over a dog or dog leash, resulting in serious injury. Also be mindful that some folks simply aren't comfortable around dogs.

-          All dogs must be under the control of an adult at all times. Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave the Market.

-          One adult should control no more than one dog, unless both dogs are small enough to be carried by that adult at the same time.

-          If you plan to do a lot of shopping, bring a friend to lend a hand.

-          Please ensure your dog doesn't touch any food or surfaces where food is on display or being served.

-          Don't let your dog relieve itself within 50 feet of the Market.

-          Do not leave your dog unattended.

-          Of course, please clean up after your pet.

As a reminder, all dogs living with residents of the Town of Davidson must:

-          Be registered with the Town of Davidson.

-          Keep all shots up to date.

The staff and volunteers of the Davidson Farmer's Market are there to ensure the Market is successful for everyone. If they feel a dog is endangering the safety or the hygiene of the Market, they may ask the owner to remove the dog from the Market.

Please respect all Market-goers and vendors as you enjoy the Market with your furry friend.
