This week at the Davidson Farmer's Market!

School is out for summer! But that doesn't mean the learning should stop.  Celebrate summer by bringing your young ones to the Market this Saturday. Give them a task.  Let them shop, talk to vendors, ask questions, be curious and pay for their purchases.  What a great way to get your kids involved with the food they eat and the people that plant it, harvest it and eat it too.  Fresh and local tastes better!

Cucumbers and herbs are overflowing this week.  Use these snappy, tasty veggies and herbs to make a fun, summer dish.  Kids love cukes too!  Check the "quick links" on the left-hand column for recipes.

Are You a DFM Sweet Pea?

pea pod campaignThe DFM's Annual Pea Pod Campaign heads in to its second week of fundraising.  Week one brought a little over $200 - a great start to raising our goal of $2,500.

We need you - our local community - to help us maintain the success of the Market by filling our truck with Sweet Peas!

All contributions are welcomed and appreciated.  There are some incentives: $5-25 = DFM bumper magnet; $30-95 = Eat Local Peas T-shirt; and $100 - above = DFM apron.

Just know by supporting the Market, you are helping to strengthen the fabric of our community by bringing people together, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, protecting agricultural land and supporting local farmers and producers.

We thank you.
