Choose the new Robust Raisin! |
|
There's a new variety of bread coming to store shelves soon. You may already have tried it if you have been to our farmers' market booths. Formerly known as Good Seed Raisin-Walnut, we have decided to call it "Robust Raisin". The name fits, because it is the heartiest, healthiest raisin bread around. 100% whole-grain, all-organic and pretty darn delicious, too.
Artist Ryan Alexander-Tanner is at it again, working with us to create the perfect Robust Raisin character. He's given us a few choices, and we would like you to weigh in on this one. Click on the link below to look at the five sketches that he has given us and then you can give us your opinion!

Help Me Make My New Video! |
|
A lot of people have requested that I tell my story to their groups. Since there are really only so many hours in a day, I thought it would be even better to make a video. A video that tells the story effectively, and hopefully, even inspire others to get their head out of their (&*^$^%.). Like, why not make a one that takes bits and pieces from the videos listed below, together with new footage and interviews, and make it rock!
We don't have a really big budget for this thing, but we feel that it really needs to be done. The interest is phenomenal! We are looking for someone who understands the story and what it could mean to people, and who has the skill and vision to help us make this project happen. Are you that person? Do you know who that person is? I would really like to hear from you about it.
Requirements: past video experience (I will need an example to evaluate), technical proficiency, creativity, and comprehension of and passion for the power of the Dave's Killer Bread Story.

Other videos about DKB Yes, Dave really exists. Here is proof:

| Expanded Distribution |
|
Dave's Killer Bread is now available in many more Fred Meyer stores. Most notably, you can now get DKB at various Fred's in the Puget Sound and Alaska.
We have also expanded distribution in our home state. We are now available in some coastal cities and as far south as S. Medford (Fred Meyer) and as far east as Bend.
If you know of any grocery stores that you think should be carrying Dave's Killer Bread, please let the store manager know that you would like to see it in their store. The quickest way for us to get our bread into a new store is when the store manager knows that people are looking for it!

| Prices Keep on Rising |
|
We hate raising prices on our bread. Dave's Killer Bread's never been cheap, and recently, it's gotten even spendier. It's not because we are greedy. We have a very low profit margin on our bread, and that margin gets slimmer each time organic wheat doubles in price and flax seeds make a 75% jump from one shipment to the next-real examples of what's been happening to ingredients, particularly organic grains. The cost of fuel ain't helping, either.
We hope that this recent increase will be the last for a very long time.
We haven't had to explain to very many people why a loaf of Dave's Killer Bread costs more than most other breads--they can taste the difference, and when they look at the package and see the list of ingredients, we think they know they are getting what they are paying for.
Now, for the good news. You should visit Killer Breadquarters-officially The Healthy Bread Store--where you will find righteous deals on fresh "imperfects" (the only thing "imperfect" is how they look), day-old loaves, production overruns, and store returns (which are sold out of the freezer). This is all still very killer bread, as many folks have discovered. It's worth a trip to Milwaukie for a lot of folks.
