Happy New Year!
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.
Carol and I are so excited about the new year and all the new experiences that it brings. We have been brainstorming about some great new class ideas, new product, new events and new promotions. We appreciate our loyal customers and want to reward them with wonderful things in the store in 2009.
This month, the Craft and Hobby Association will host its winter trade show in Anaheim where all the new product for the next 6 months will be released. This is the first time in years that Carol and I will not be attending but we thought it was best to spend money on more product instead of travel expense. We have already seen many of the new products and I think everyone will be happy with our choices. New products from the CHA show generally start to arrive in March but there are a few things scheduled for as soon as early February.
We have some great classes in store for you in 2009, so be sure to check out our Calendar for all the current and upcoming classes. We also post photos of most of our store samples and all our class samples in our Online Gallery. So, if you would like to see what you will be making in these amazing classes, check there!
Due to the unpredictability of the weather and hazardous driving conditions, we are recommending that people phone first during inclement weather. Driving out here from the city during a snowstorm can take me 2-3 hours, so there may be days when we open late or even need to close. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but some days, safety overrides scrapbooking. Since we are an independent store with a very small staff, sometimes we find ourselves in these unfortunate predicaments. We hope everyone can understand. Just phone first! We hope to see you soon!simone

CLASS NEWS

Mom/Daughter Tea Time Workshop Marnie Bushmole and her daughter are hosting a Mom/Daughter Tea Time Workshop this month. This special workshop is geared toward adults and children together, so even if you are not the special little girl's mother, we would love to have aunts, grandmas, neighbors ...whomever, as long as it is an adult and child. This fun workshop will feature 4 fun projects to create
an atmosphere of sweetness. Turning chipboard cupcakes into place
setting/picture frames, creating a pinwheel of hearts, a candy filled
favor and a lovely card round out the set. Sharing ideas and time
together set the stage for a fabulous day together. Please
bring a glue stick, double-sided tape, pencil, eraser, scissors and two
pictures of your child (if you want them punched).
Hugs and Kisses WorkshopGet ready for the Valentine Season with
this totally hands on class! We will be using the Cornish Heritage
Farms unmounted stamp set, Hugs and Kisses to create 3 projects. The class fee includes the price of the stamp set, so you are walking away with some great product! We will be creating a card, 3D project and tag in this class. Besides a basic tool kit, please bring an acrylic block for the stamps to class, minimum size 2".
A muse Card Class This month in the A muse card class, we will be using some of the cutest stamps this company carries. We are creating some love themed cards for Valentines Day, Anniversary and friendship. This class features new stamping and paper crafting techniques.
Designing Layouts We will be talking all about design in this
class and using My Mind Eye to get some hands on experience. If you
are new scrapbooking or need some more ideas for placement of
embellishments or patterned paper then this is a great class to start
with. In this class you pick your own My Minds Eye papers and embellishments to coordinate with your own pictures. Bring pictures for 2 layouts as well as your basic tool kit.
We have many more great classes this month, so be sure to check out our entire class schedule in Our Store Calendar.

Copic Marker Classes and Clubs
|
|
First of all, I would like to thank everyone for all the interest in our Copic clubs and classes. These classes have been a huge success for us and it is primarily due to great customers telling their friends where they buy them! All of our clubs are completely full (we even added a third club, people on the waiting list will be getting a call next week with details). We are unable to start any more clubs until after summer due to shipping delays with Copic. If you are interested in the club, please add your name to our waiting list. This will help us determine how many clubs to start in the fall and hopefully ensure that everyone who wants a spot, gets one.
For everyone in the clubs, here are your class days. They are the same day every month. Copic Club 1 (started in November) - meets the 3rd Wednesday Copic Club 2 (starts in January) - meets the 4th Wednesday Copic Club 3 (which will start February) - meets the 1st Wednesday
In the meantime, and for those who do not want to commit to a full 6 months, we are still offering the Copic Basics Class. This is a great way to start or find out what these markers are all about. In this class, you will be using our store markers so it is a great way to get some hands on experience and find out what all the buzz is about. I am also adding a Beyond Copic Basics Class which will be just a little more instruction than the Copic Basics Class. This class will be added to our schedule for February, so be on the lookout for this great new addition.
I am working on a way to get our Copic club/classes online for everyone out of state and for those club members who miss the free classes. It has been difficult finding a way to host the videos so that they are not just free on the web, so when I figure out all the details, I will be sure to let everyone know. It is high on my To-Do List!

American Crafts Teen Line This fresh new paper line with bright bold colors is flying off the shelves and I can see why. The patterns and colors grab everyone's attention that walk into the store. The use of hearts and pinks have made this one of my favorite lines to use on all our Valentine themed projects as well as scrapbook pages. We have a limited amount of this paper left and when it is sold, it is gone. Be sure to stop in or walk by to see all our new projects made with this exciting new line.
A muse Valentine Stamps We have ordered all the new A muse Valentine/Love stamps but due to an overwhelming demand for them, they have been delayed. Most of the stamps should be in store next week. Please call to ensure their arrival if they are high on your list. When new product comes in the store, we post updates to the blog, so be sure to subscribe to the blog to keep up to date with our inventory.
