November 22, 2010:  SBA Backs Repeal of 'Burdensome'1099 Reporting Requirements on Small Business Transactions

In an open letter to small business owners, SBA Administrator Karen Mills described requirements that small businesses report all transactions greater than $600 as "burdensome," and called for their repeal.   Read More 

 

November 27, 2010: Local retailers welcome first ever Small Business Saturday  You've heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now, there's a new shopping day in between aimed at supporting local businesses. It's called Small Business Saturday.  American Express created the day as a way to entice shoppers to buy local. Shoppers had to register online in advance, and if they spent $25 or more on their AMEX card at a participating small business, they received a $25 credit. Read more
