 Rochester Roots 2 
Rochester Roots is a non-profit organization committed to the creation of urban school and community garden-based educational programs for youth and adults. 

In January of 2007, Rochester Roots approached SCORE Rochester for assistance in improving its business planning.  SCORE counselors met with the Rochester Roots Board of Directors and reviewed their results and objectives.
 
Janet McDonald, the Executive Director of Rochester Roots said "SCORE really helped us focus in on the business planning process and establish both near-term and long-term planning objectives that are critical for our organization".

 - SBA Launches YouTube Channel - Aim is to Reach Larger Audience through Popular Site.
The U.S. Small Business Administration has begun posting informational videos on YouTube as it joins an increasing trend within the federal government to use the popular video-sharing web platform to reach a larger audience. The SBA YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/sba) debuted with a 60-second introduction to SBA, its programs and services, and a 10-part "Delivering Success" series co-produced with the U.S. Postal Service.  read more
 
August 19th - Recovery Act Expands SBA Microloan Program - New Intermediaries Will Provide Greater Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs.
With the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding an additional $50 million for loans and $24 million for technical assistance, the U.S. Small Business Administration is expanding its Microloan program and increasing access to capital for small businesses across the country.  read more
