Mark Plyter, Executive Director of HSWC and Stephanie Cooper, Board Chair, wanted to improve and expand their programs.  In business for over 18 years they felt their business plans needed updating to develop more effective action planning that would tie their vision and mission strategies together.  Working with SCORE they were able to focus on their business planning process.

Located in Lyons, New York, the Humane Society of Wayne County was established in 1983 and opened it's doors in 1990 dedicated to serving lost, unwanted and abused animals and to provide a facility for humane education.

In the News
Thank You Citizens Bank Foundation
SCORE Rochester is very grateful once again to the Citizens Bank Foundation for its generous support.  A recently approved grant will be used to reach out proactively to more small business clients.  This will help those businesses take root and flourish in the Greater Rochester area.  It also helps us continue to improve and expand workshops and seminars, especially in the City of Rochester and with non-profit organizations.  In addition, we will continue our expanded participation in more small business and entrepreneurial-related trade shows, with special emphasis on women's organizations and the minority communities.

Partnership with Genesee Regional Bank
We are pleased to announce that Genesee Regional Bank has joined SCORE Rochester as a Community Resource Partner to support the small business community in our area.  Their confidence in us is very much appreciated.

SCORE Rochester Expands to Victor and Wayne County
Score Chapter 23 is expanding to areas that have been underserved.  In addition, it is strengthening the chapter's ability to serve the large rural and agricultural areas that it has responsibility for.  To this end, we opened a new cousneling office in Victor, New York located at the Victor Chamber of Commerce in downtown Victor.  The official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony took place on April 20th.

On May 7th we will officially open our first office to serve Wayne County.  This office will be located at 1620 Waynesport Road in the town of Macedon.  Immediately after, we will open a second office at 16 Williams Street in Lyons and we are searching for a 3rd office in Wayne County to be located in Sodus.

We acknowledge the support we have received from the Victor Chamber of Commerce for the Victor location.  For Wayne County we are grateful for the support we have received from the Wayne County Industrial Development Agency, the Reliant Community Credit Union, the Wayne County Business Council, the Town of Macedon and the Town of Sodus.  We will have counselors that live in these areas which will enhance the local knowledge needed to make counseling there more effective.

SCORE Chapter 23 will continuously seek to expand services to all areas of our responsibility.
