The Wayne County Humane Society was founded in 1983 by a group of thoughtful, committed citizens who were determined to change the conditions for animals in Wayne County. A two year capital campaign undertaken in 1987 raised the initial capital required to lease property from the County and make renovations to existing buildings in order to convert them into suitable and state compliant shelters.
HSWC's mission is to provide a humane facility to shelter, feed and care for lost, unwanted or abused domestic animals of Wayne County, New York and to provide a facility for humane education to the citizens of Wayne County.

Spotlight on Dick Arfman
SCORE counselor since 1990! |
 |
This month we'd like to salute Dick Arfman who is retiring from SCORE. Dick is 85 years young and has been one of our most active members. Let us hope we can all have his energy level when we reach that milestone!
We will miss him, as his expertise has been invaluable both to his fellow counselors and to our community. Some of Dick's contributions include having counseled more than 500 clients and writing our SCORE Chapter's ethics brochure. He has also created our listing of attorneys, accountants, insurance advisors and website designers. Please join our Chapter in celebrating the service of this very special volunteer! Read more.

Sound like you? Often times, small business owners and staff end up doing the jobs of several, including accountant. But you didn't start this company to count beans all day, did you?
