Greetings!
Happy Valentines Day!
Convinced that this was yet another idea invented by the card companies, I checked Wikipedia and was pleasantly surprised that this holiday has a little more substance. I knew that Valentine's Day was named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentine, but I did not know that it was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD. That puts a new twist on the holiday, I think.
We are also celebrating Catholic School's "month" in February. Campus Ministry is doing a great job of reminding us all of our Catholic, Benedictine heritage through daily trivia contests, wonderful posters and little surprises. Also this year, we begin each day with a prayer read by a student over the P.A. system, it's such a great way to start the day.
All my best to you and your loved ones during this special month. We can't tell you enough how much we love that you are a part of the Prep Community. A candy heart from us might read: luv & prayrs 4u!
Benedictine Peace!
