Greetings!

Harford Leadership Academy will soon be celebrating its 20th anniversary!  We'd like to announce the launch of the HLA Alumni Newsletter to help you keep up-to-date on HLA news and to celebrate the contributions HLA grads have made to the community.

Since 2006, HLA Ambassadors have met regularly to help provide guidance to the Alumni Association. Look for upcoming information on how we plan to celebrate 20 years of transforming leadership in Harford County.

Harford County's Great Outdoors

Over the past year we focused our Alumni meetings around outdoor opportunities in our county.
  • In September, we trekked to Swan Harbor, where Parks & Recreation Director Joe Pfaff gave an overview of the county's growing recreational sites and programs.

  • In November we met and toured Harford Glen Environmental Education Center, where county students spent time exploring and learning a variety of ecological stewardship opportunities.

  • In February we met at the Edgewood Public Library and heard Maryland Science Center Director Pete Yancone discuss the partnership the MSC has with the public libarary system and in particular, the Churchville branch.

  • This spring, we will host a legislative update with local Senator Barry Glassman and the Anita Leight Estuary Center in Abingdon on April 16.

What's next? That's up to you! We want to know what you'd like to see to help keep you an effective leader. Email ofranzoni@harford.edu and tell us what you think!
Congratulations to Baldrige National Quality Award Winners!
