Sweet Blue Eyes Needs You!!!
A foster is NEED for heartworm treatment
 | Our "Frankie Sinatra" or ol' Blue Eyes |
We just "sprung" this very handsome, very sweet 2-4 year old Dal-mix boy from a high-kill shelter. He was turned in as an owner surrender... owners who obviously didn't take care of him at all.
Frankie tested a very high positive for heartworms. That means that he is not tolerating the worms very well and they are taxing his heart. He must be treated as soon as possible to give him a chance for a normal, healthy life.
Because we have no available foster homes, Frankie is being boarded at the kennel. Heartworm treatment requires a very quiet place to recover and a lot of tender, loving care. Frankie's treatment will require about 90 days of foster care. During that time, he will need to be crated and only taken for bathroom breaks on a leash. A crate will be provided and we will cover all medical costs.
Won't you please help this boy find his way back to health? His suffering is caused by human neglect. Can't someone show him some humans do care? If you can foster Frankie, please call Sherry at 727-787-1760 or email daldoglady@netzero.net as soon as possible. If you can't foster but would like to donate to his treatment, funds can be sent through the DONATE button on our website at www.dalrescuetampabay.org.

 | Clinton is a happy boy, he gets to stay in St. Pete with Mary Ellen! |
Just when it seems the pace of incoming dogs is slowing down, boom, we get some more dogs into rescue. Joining us this month are Cloud, Blueberry, & Frankie! Thankfully, we had an equal number of great adoptions. Spike found his forever home with Annabelle, another DRTB rescue, and Mary Ellen finally failed fostering with Clinton! What can we say? Sometimes the dog picks you. Our newest bit of news is that China, renamed Belle, will be staying with the Logans. Unfortunately, this was a very rough month for Sandy, our senior-dog foster mom, she had to say goodbye to several of the senior spots. Bandit, Claudia, and Petey who all crossed the rainbow bridge within days of each other. We will miss them all ... DoGspeed sweet Dallies, until we meet again.
So for 2012; with 16 dogs carrying over from 2011, 2 dogs returned, an additional 38 dogs into rescue, and two crossing the rainbow bridge; we have managed 23 adoptions. That leaves us with the responsibility of caring for 27 Dals & dogs. ANY or ALL could use SPONSORS! Your help is very much needed. Our Dals & dogs, in various stages of readiness, seeking their forever homes are:

Pollyanna Buddy Bobby
Jax Cloud Blueberry
We list all our adoptable dogs on www.Petfinder.com. PLEASE let us know if you can help these dogs with a loving home or getting them to events so that they might get adopted!
