From Susan to You... Happy New Year To All Our Wonderful Friends and Supporters!
We close 2009 having helped 90 Dalmatians and Dalmatian mixes with
your help. That's 90 lives that would have not seen 2010 had it not
been for our wonderful foster homes and volunteers. But now they are
all in loving homes or on their way to a new start. Many were seniors
looking for just a place to rest their heads.
Wally, from Ft. Walton Beach, has the honor of being #90. He was a
stray on the streets. Thanks to Laura and Luc for pulling him from a
very crowded, overrun shelter and bringing him to safety at Karen H.'s
great foster facility. He'll soon be neutered and placed on Petfinder
where we know we'll find him a home for life.
Thank you again so much for your help and here's to doing just one more thing in 2010!
Susan
Merry Christmas to Us, number 90 just arrived at DRTB! |
"Cheers to a New Year & Another Chance for Us to Get It Right."
Some borrowed words from Oprah with the ring of truth. We are hoping this year we can make it right for more Dals & dogs that need rescue. We had our share of successes this year. For 2009, we have
rescued 73 new Dals/dogs beyond the 17 dogs carried over from last year making a total of 90 dogs
whose lives were impacted by us. We have placed 61 dogs into new homes including 6 direct referral adoptions plus 6 dogs become care-for-life additions. One more lucky dog has a home awaiting her in the new year.
December was a busy month. Carly & Brian once again adopted from us after losing both Fig Newton & Tango this summer. Kaspar, the 5-year-old deaf boy from Tampa joins his new sister Olivia who is another DRTB save. Rouge a 2-year-old female victim of a divorce found her home with Rick. We also learned that old spot Spooky crossed the bridge. December also brought us six more dogs! Liberty began the month, followed by senior Samantha who will be a care-for-life, and just in time for Christmas we were gifted with Cotton, Chester, Katie, & Wally!
Poor Cotton, how could we say no to this face? He was down to his last day.Currently, we have 32 Dals & dogs under our care. Those still seeking homes are:
